  • That's OK Shev. Distance can make it hard to attend games as often as you would like for obvious reasons. As long as your comments do not claim knowledge that you don't have, (and you haven't that I have seen) you are certainly entitled in my book to support the club from afar and to express your opinions on stuff you can reasonably know on this forum.

  • As far as I know Mindless, any suggestion of there being a mental health element to SK injury layoff is unsubstantiated social media rumour that has an alarming tendency to become social media fact.

As with any player, WWFC owe a duty of care to all its employees and hence I would expect them to choose any loan club carefully for any of its players and particularly understanding the way the management team at that club look after the players mentally and physically. That is a given for me for all players. Indeed I think GA reputation for looking after players loaned to WWFC well is a major reason why clubs are happy to send their players here.

Assuming we chose the club well and assuming that SK is physically capable of playing first team football every week, frankly I think it is likely to do his confidence and form the world of good, especially if that loan spell is successful (which obviously can't be guaranteed).

frankly if SK is still not able to physically play every week, it would be a major concern for his future career, but if he still isn't then I would agree not fair on him or his potential loan club to send him out to do a job he physically isn't capable of doing.

  • Reverting to the typically convoluted “Do you disagree with the analysis that....” post from @DevC yesterday, I disagree that Scott Kashket contributes little else apart from scoring goals but I agree with the obvious point that he needs games to regain form and confidence (match fitness too).

Loaning him out to a League 2 or National League Club for a month might be a consideration, albeit with the reservations expressed by @aloysius and @Right_in_the_Middle.

But the issue of pecking order is a bit of an irrelevance, in my opinion, in the sense that he is very much one of a kind - a specialist goalscorer who has only ever scored prolifically within a formation that has two at the top, whatever the overall formation. I rather like the currently fashionable “three at the back” version with five in midfield but that would mean withdrawing two from Tyson, CMS and PCH into deeper positions either side of a central midfield comprising three from Saunders, O’Nien, Bloomfield and Gape.
As we will inevitably be signing at least one centre back, a 3-5-2 formation would render JJ and Harriman surplus to requirements.

Oh, hell’s bells and buckets of blood, I don’t know the answer. Who’d be a football manager. (That is not a question.)

One thing’s for sure. With Bayo and one other “up front”, Kashket is much higher in the pecking order than he is in any formation with 3 or more at the front.

  • @DevC Perhaps we should loan Kashket out to a West country team so you would be able to attend and prepare an in depth analysis of his performances for Gareth!

  • We played with 2 up front and diamond midfield quite often particularly towards the end of the season

  • Ffs .... again !! This is a transfer speculation page !!

Please someone set up an argument only page... it's doing my head in

  • We'll need a thread for a 'five minute' argument, and another one for the 'full half-hour'.

  • Bring back the "why should seniors get reduced ticket prices" thread!

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Another thread completely off track........

  • agreed, can this thread please be about the topic...

  • What has a hazelnut in every bite?

  • Incredible it was first sold in 1962.

  • Chapeau Uncle T. Wish I'd been the first to come up with that post.

  • No-one’s speculating. Thank goodness.
    Pointless.

  • You've just missed it I'm afraid Micra. You could try I-player

  • Always recorded.

  • Hubbles bread - often buttered, never bettered. Maidstone circa 1948.

  • @holmerblue, where there's a dev, there's a derailed thread. I did suggest last summer that he has his own thread for being dev, but there wasn't much appetite for that.

  • luke steele been released by Bristol City....realistic target?

  • Would add a bit of mettle to the squad.

  • An absolute steal on a free transfer

  • Scott Golbourne released by Bristol City also; possible back-up/competition for JJ at Left Back?

  • Nickelback doing the half time show

  • Sullied left back.

  • frank moussa also been released..

  • Well hopefully he wouldn't dessert us in our hour of need.

  • Yogurt to be kidding!

  • He would look good in a Beechdean sponsored shirt!

  • its obviously silly season
