What sort of fan owned club is this when we did not demand a sell-on clause for a loan player who was with us for one season. Howard out! (Am I too early?)
I hope not! I thought I was slow (and I really am compared with the younger folk whose thumbs and fingers fly around at impossible speed).
Nice quip, by the way.
Who knows for sure, but I think I read somewhere that we were very close indeed and then he went and scored the goal of his life at Luton and we suddenly couldn't afford him.
@Wendoverman I seem to recall at a meeting that AH said he thought we had signed him with everything agreed and then Barnsley jumped in with a better offer at the 11th hour. Not that they now need the cash after their recent takeover but I hope they are in for a handful.
thanks @TheAndyGrahamFanClub I was not aware of that...now I am retrospectively upset.
Good luck to Alfie though, hopefully if he goes West AAAAAm, it will not be be a frying pan, fire scenario.
Yep, deal arranged, for some inexplicable reason we thought we'd sort it post Luton game, he scored that incredible goal, and it was all finished.
Great it's gone so well for him though. If he'd stayed with us, who is to say he'd have had such a good season again, and got anywhere near the Premier league?
Alfie up to £25 million. Extraordinary. I also read that he was one of the players committing a small percentage of their salary to charity. As if the guy’s stock could get any higher. http://www.kumb.com/story.php?id=132010
Whatever happened with Max, it looks like a heck of a game up there. 2-0 down at 71 minutes, then 3-2 down with six minutes left after equalising and still go on to win it! Rich entertainment for the 1124 crowd.

With silly season approaching this is some rise regardless

It's reported in the press today that West Ham are going to offer Swansea £20m for Alfie Mawson in the January window.
As stated in the above link @mooneyman !
And Swansea regard the offer as derisory.
I am a slow typist Micra, it took me 12 minutes to type it. If I see your mobility scooter i'll let it's tyres down for your cheek

Well worth every penny
How close we were to signing Mawson will haunt me for the rest of my life.
@Jonny_King Surely the Matt Phillips deal should haunt you more.
How close WERE we to signing Alfie?

I heard we had a verbal agreement with him to sign and then Barnsley pipped us before it could be finalised.

Lee Angol scores for Mansfield.
hause being tipped for a £2.5m move - potential decent if perhaps slightly disappointing sell-on.
Apart from Ingram, who obviously needs to establish himself as a Champ player left, is that the last one for now or have I forgotten someone?
Kadeem Harris?
Stuart Lewis has scored for Maidstone at Woking, seems to be a fans favourite there.
Sad times as Steve Brown takes a coaching role at the Franchise.
