Best of luck to them both, except on those two days as Brownie says. I feel like these two are two that need time (which they got with us and obviously didn't with QPR) so as long as Salop give them time, they will be a resounding success
I’m really happy Gareth Ainsworth and Richard Dobson are both back in football. Given time they’ll have Shrewsbury Town challenging at the top of League One.
Hopefully GA & Dobbo can create the necessary "New Manager Bounce" to start with a thumping win - their first game in charge will be against Birmingham.
Technically it will be a new head coach bounce but that doesn't have the same ring to it.
Agree with all the good wishes except that when I was much, much younger I had a trial (football, not criminal) at Shrewsbury and they rejected me. They were quite right by the way.
Could have changed the whole history of Wycombe Wanderers if you had got a contract with them Alan. You may never had met up with the great MON and the whole WWFC story would have been different.
I think it is going to be a very tough job, and I hope they are given time to rebuild in L2 should relegation happen (and I think it will).
Someone on the Shrewsbury forum put it perfectly, though I am paraphrasing - something like "We didn't fall behind, we have been overtaken by money." I think that is a fair sentiment as L1 has become Champo-lite. Instead of some relatively beatable clubs coming up from L2, it has been three contenders and a Crawley side that are still no mugs.

I look forward to the 'Wycombe Rejects' chant next month. I think they will enjoy that

So glad they've gone to a likeable club. Hope they can keep the Shrews up but that the apprentice becomes the master when we play them.
Be interesting to see if they come calling for anyone in January. McCarthy, Wheeler etc
McCarthy to Shrewsbury in January wouldn't surprise me at all. I think Blooms would be keen to keep hold of Wheeler though for his versatility.
Good luck to them both.
Good luck to Gareth & Dobbo glad they are back in the game.
Great news.
Do hope our supporters give them the reception they deserve in December.
Will Joe Jacobson go back there in some capacity?
Only if he can haka
Fantastic news for The Shrews, two of the finest in fitba.
Gave us some of the greatest ever moments.

I would be perfectly happy for Shrewsbury to emulate us and both end up in the Champo - very likable club! Good luck GA and Dobbo.
Didn’t he come to us from there many moons ago?

He did indeed, and thank you to whoever at Shrewsbury thought he wasn't good enough
Glad they've got back in. Was slightly worrying about them
Not unless Rob Couhig is taking them over

Glad you failed but in the nicest possible way 😁.
Indeed. Thank you to whoever at Shrewsbury thought he wasn't good enough!
Do you mean me or JJ 😃
Good news they’re both back in a job. Certainly a long commute from where they live but obviously desperate to get back into jobs .
Surely Dobbo will be relocating from The New Forest to work in Shrewsbury?!

There's a very good interview with Ainsworth on the Shrewsbury Town website that's well worth a watch as he has lost none of his passion.
Have you looked at the diaspora thread @robin
brilliant!
It will be a tough job, I hope for Gaz and Dobbo's sake they will be given a fair crack of the whip.
