If you have a friend that films a video of you FOUR YEARS ago and keeps hold of it know how much shit you’d be in should it come out, and then it suddenly (for some reason) it does now come out - I would suggest that friend is pretty terrible. He was holding onto it for a reason.
His mates were also the ones that say they hated scousers, but the ref is the one copping it in the neck for everything.
That’s not to excuse what was happening in regards to the amount of Charlie going up his nose, but I would defend him in being able to call someone a c unit after they have acted that way towards you, and still have the capacity to be professional during his working time. I’ve worked with many people I’ve not liked. Doesn’t stop me doing the job I’m paid for, as well as I can do.
It was definitely a loss at home to Mansfield. Towards the end of a season where we'd played well, and only finished one point outside the playoffs. Pierre had had a very good game too
Bit third hand this but I spoke to the brother of another players wife after the Pierre incident. He said his brother in law was told by Pierre that our “supporter” had made extremely offensive comments about Pierre’s partner and the dressing room consensus was that Aaron showed remarkable restraint all things considered.
Shocked when we managed to sign him. That era when we were almost begging for players. A terrific player for us. He’s had a decent career after he left. I’m always surprised that his time with us has been linked with a single incident where he acted in an imperfect but understandable way. He deserved better.
What’s the difference between Tea, supper and dinner? What time can you have them? Maybe @micra can help me out grammatically if I’m making myself look like a idiot again by having a chippy tea for dinner?
can i use these as justification for having 6 meals a day?
breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, supper and dinner. Not sure when I’ll have time for a snack during that busy afternoon/evening though.
At a hotel I worked in many years ago, the staff had little breakfast and big breakfast - either side of serving breakfast to the guests. Pretty sure we had elevenses too!
Eating routines differ on regional and/or class lines.
North: Breakfast-dinner-tea
South: Breakfast-lunch-dinner
Supper is optional and is the last meal of the day.
Brunch is a late breakfast/early lunch and is an Americanism and therefore low class. A posher person would have elevenses and a lunatic would call it tiffin.
High Tea is between lunch and dinner (not called Linner, for some reason) and is eaten by Chinese tourists in posh London hotels.
Dialect words can be added. My father-in-law, a complete tinker, would call pretty much any meal 'snap' which is an East Midlands thing.

Not sure what you mean by having some terrible "mates"?
Fair comments.
I'd imagine he's in a pretty bleak place.
Swindon?

It was the 1st season where they had the 100 club. The actual day of the thank you event for the fans after the game.
Quite a surprise then that the individual involved couldn't wait to rush back to the club and make a scene outside the Vere Suite.

Ahhh...yes, I remember at the time thinking of all the people to have moaned at Pierre was not one of them.

I wonder if any Maori in Shropshire have been given a call yet
I suspect the Shrews Haka would look a bit more like this than a traditional Maori one
Have I missed something?!
@Wendoverman missed a comma (or something grammatical) after ‘at’
I was teasing. He is so self-effacing he missed ‘I’ after ‘Pierre’.
Ahh...yes, I remember thinking at the time, of all the players people could have moaned at, Pierre was not one of them.
Fixed probably. (@micra to sign off.)
So GA and Dobbo first game at the Shrews is facing a Birmingham City with Ryan Allsopp in goal...now that could be a very late finish! 😊
Shrewsbury will have 18% possession and won 1-0.
This is post if the season for me 😂
And a superb reply too 👏
guaranteed Allsop yellow card
Presumably that's why it's a 12.30 ko, so everyone can be home by teatime.
Teatime? More like late supper!

There may be a North South divide here as there is between Mrs W and I.
Growing up we had breakfast, dinner, and came 'ome from school for our tea. (None of that fancy 'lunch' or 'supper')
Like clockwork doesn't everyone have
with time for a celebratory pre-eating sherry in there after 5pm

Ah yes, Mr Kim, my grandad would go to work with his Snap Tin (though it was usually Tupperware) and flask.
