The help Dark Matter has on that front is that it’s based on a novel with no pressure to make endless series and spinoffs and turn it into a franchise. It’s nicely self contained
I’ve got a hankering for Forbidden Planet or Time Bandits (the original of course , I’ve seen the trailer for the new series and it doesn’t bode well).
How on God's earth can anyone think The Wicker Man is awful? Such people shouldn't be allowed to vote, breed or leave the house without a responsible adult.
You’re welcome, I think they are currently my favourite band of all time.
If you’re interested in exploring their back catalogue the good news is all their albums are great. I believe Romance is Boring is generally regarded as the best, although my preference is for the louder and messier We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed.
First Night of the Proms featured a favourite Ludwig number, also a great performance of Clara Schumman’s piano concertonfrom Isata Kanneh Mason and the premiere of Ben Nobuto’s Hallelujah Sim, which kicked off the second half for anyone wishing to check it out - available on the iPlayer for a while.
Loved season 1 (even if the ending was a bit hokey), enjoyed season 2, pretty much hated episode 1 of season 3 but I’ve liked the rest of it I’ve seen so far.

Just finished Dark Matter following @drcongo ’s recommendation. It’s not quite Severance but it’s a damn good effort.
I’ll give it a go although I find that with a lot of modern science fiction series once you get the big reveal the writers struggle.

In January!
I know right.
Lovely. Watch season one again over Christmas to get tuned back in.
An Alex Cox project has just appeared on my facebook feed, does anyone else remember Moviedrome ?
I absolutely loved Moviedrome, I wish they’d bring it back.

Moviedrome was great. It opened with the Wicker Man which my house mates, in the main, thought was awful. I knew then it was time to move on…

We were young. It can take time to see what is good in the world. Back then I had no time for test cricket.
Scared the bejabers out of me at the time but then again so did the Evil Dead which I have watched since and obviously I’ve toughened up.
Alex Cox is filming a sequel to Repo Man!
That Run DMC documentary (Kings from Queens) on Sky Docs is well worth a watch.
Happy new Los Campesinos! album release day
Thank you for bringing this to my attention - had never heard them before but thoroughly enjoying my first listen

The Fall.
Close thread.
Anyone watching The Bear?

Agree, S3 they've tried to be a bit different, not sure it's all worked, the dysfunctional family ep in S2 is brilliantly painful.
Outstanding television. Season 2 ‘Forks’ was just astonishing
