No worries, lots of garbage has been spoken about the whole thing and as you say the eyebrowed mancs need little defence themselves.
I think most people expected the tickets to be in excess of £70/£80 plus ticketmasters customary markup and took a bit of an intake of breath when it became known that even standing tickets would be £150 but for them to hike the last of the same tickets to be £350+ is all kinds of piss taking after a day of technical issues and queuing. The band are rumoured to be comfortably taking up to £7/8m home per night anyway so it's excessive.
Incidentally the process of selling a ticket used to be charged at a couple of pounds or free if in person. The inflation on that is astronomical too.
Saw that and thought about it but decided against for the time being. Was pleasantly surprised by the Sam Smith concert. Enjoyed it more than expected. Much more actually.
Haven’t heard the Sheku Kanneh-Mason concert yet but hope to do so before I forget.
Sounds an absolute delight. I remember the first series of Colin from Accounts descending into nonsense but we’d forgotten how bad it was and started to watch the new series. Looked at one another after about ten minutes and decided to go back to the Alec Guinness documentary.
Call us old-fashioned. But none the worse for that.
Memories of the fairly rapid disintegration into nonsense of the first series meant that our expectations were set very low. Settling down to watch was never an option. We gave it a chance but it quickly became apparent that it wasn’t for us.
Already burdened with streaming services so we are waiting for a few episodes to drop before paying for a month's trial of Apple+ so we can binge 😉
Slow Horses is excellent.
(I reckon filming series' back to back helps maintain quality and keeps the actors focussed...not to mention stopping them from nipping off to make a film or something and get too famous to come back.)
I know this will be marmite, but the new Linkin Park single is excellent. They've found someone who sounds a bit like Chester and yet has her own unique style.
Emily Armstrong’s past association with Danny Masterson and questions about her continued membership of the scientology cult are going to be an issue for both her and Linkin Park.
I’m sure the new album and tour will make 💰💰💰 so maybe they’re just not bothered.
I don’t think that statement is going to cut it and having read the statements of Chrissie Carnell Bixler and Cedric Bixler-Zarvala I already feel sick and don’t want to delve any further.
I see Morrissey is the all over the right wing press about being silenced and cancelled as he prepares for his 'sell-out' US tour.
Lawrence Fox must dream of that sort of cancelling.
Apparently some record companies are not happy about the bequiffed Britain Firster yodelling a song about the Manchester bombing or something and won't release the album.
I am praying Johnny Marr never has a costly divorce to fund...
Thankfully Johnny - a genuinely lovely bloke, having met him twice - is unlikely to ever be in that situation, having been with his wife Angie for some 45 years. Oh, what Morrissey could learn from his old bandmate when it comes to public dignity.
I was never a huge Linkin Park fan, but probably exactly the right age when Hybrid Theory came out. Emily Armstrong has the right voice, but i find the whole situation a bit weird. It's not like Chester quit the band, he's dead.
It seems as though 95% of the people at their recent gig are recording on their phone. Is that what it's like these days?
Definitely feels strange. I don't know if that was unique because it was their first gig 'back' or if that is what its like normally. I prefer phones being out to people drunkenly talking to their mate next to them like they're the other side of the hall, usually during a nice acoustic quiet number. Or the bar staff throwing bottles into the bin during the quiet bits.

For those who enjoyed season 1 of Last King of the Cross, look out for season 2 (released in Australia last week but can be found online).
Strong language, threat, very strong violence, sexualised nudity, drug misuse etc. 😮

I can imagine @micra settling down to watch a programme about Colin (from accounts) and being disappointed with the Australian nonsense that followed.

@drcongo just caught up with the first episode of Slow Horses, it was excellent.
First of the new series or first first?
The new series
Excellent wasn't it.
I agree
Really rare to have sustained this level of quality for so long.
Me too

I don't disagree, though a personal statement has been issued on the first part.
I don’t think that statement is going to cut it and having read the statements of Chrissie Carnell Bixler and Cedric Bixler-Zarvala I already feel sick and don’t want to delve any further.
any Perry Como news, @glasshalfempty?
Wasn't that an item in Chris Morris's 'The Day Today'?

Indeed. Not met him, but every interview I've seen or heard seems to back that up. Also his solo albums are also very good.
Moz album is called 'Bonfire of The Teenagers' apparently...even with an exciting rockabilly backing, it's probably a hard sell.
Morrisey reminds me of an old Viz letter which goes
"OLAY keep claiming they fight the 7 signs of ageing. Does that include becoming more right wing? Because that's the really problematic one"
It's a bit quiet on the Perry Como front mate.

That's true. I'm not sure i've been to a proper gig since before smartphones now i think about it !
This morning I came across by chance for the very first time (on Radio 3) the amazing soundscape composer, Ruby Colley. Nearly said Murray.
