I can't believe those two goons had the brass neck to speak to the camera about what they did. It certainly hasn't made me any more likely to ever go to an England game.
I stopped watching England live a few years before covid as I couldn’t stomach the overt racism and the coke fuelled morons rampaging around. It was like some time capsule where the Sun’s 80s view of Blighty and foreigners somehow still persisted.
I stopped watching them at all for a while, but came back when at the team seemed a likeable bunch of young men again.
That little runt from Essex needs his front door putting through by the police at some point.
It was very uncomfortable viewing and I just couldn't stop thinking about all those fans who would have been so excited in the days leading up to that final only to have it ruined by these people. Just very sad.
Same feelings about the Champions League final in Paris the other year as well.
And the poor England families who got mercilessly attacked by the Russian hooligans in Marseille.
This is what makes me angry far more than our standing in UEFA or whatever. To think that a dad and son would have spent ages looking forward to a once in a lifetime day out only to have it ruined by people who, frankly, should in some sort of institution makes my blood boil.
We’re hosting again quite soon aren’t we? Maybe it‘ll be better.
The goons storming the ground knew there were 23000 seats to run into as usually only a few blaggers try the "jib" in routine as their huge problem is where they go if they do get in.
I get where you are coming from, sadly there are very few countries that have enough stadia that meet the size criteria for major tournaments, or the associated travel & hospitality infrastructure; hence the number of joint country applications these days. Our PL sides are happy to build bigger & better stadia meaning neither the FA or the country are burdened with the additional capital costs.
The authorities need to use the laws available to them and properly clamp down on the idiots that spoil it for all.
Somehow Inside No 9 didn't ping on my TV radar when first released, I started watching it when it was announced that the new series is the last one; have managed to watch the first 5 series so far.
It is clever, witty, wierd, bizarre & disturbing in fairly equal measure
@robin I have a long standing love affair with classical music which because of the cheer vastness of the genre has got me into stuff from the 1500s to the present and a wide variety of world music as well. Opera is something I have barely scratched the surface of but what I have found is that it is more engaging live than recorded and it is an intensive and exhausting experience, the music, the libretto, the acting, it is a lot to process but it is a wonderful experience.
Fans of classical will probably already be aware of the forthcoming Proms season, there is a lot more beyond that from Disco to Sarah Vaughan to Malian Desert Jazz, it is a wonderfully diverse few months and one of the cheapest tickets in town - hugely accessible.
I'm going to Wells cathedral tomorrow night to watch an evening of opera arias,it's 2 hours and 15 minutes of glorious music and i cant wait as the singers are professional it's going to be an amazing evening. Thing is i'll be wearing a white shirt, black trousers and shoes a dark blue bow tie and a dark grey overcoat i will make a real effort.

Absolutely brilliant tv.
Love it. One of the best shows of the last decade.
Shame it's the last series but they are putting on a theatre show next year in London to compensate!
I did not know that, but have just bought two tickets for my wife’s birthday present next April! Thanks for the info!
A matinee show in March for me.
'The Final' on Netflix (do about the Euro 2020 final disorder) is worth a watch, although it will make you despair for society.
Love Inside No 9. Can’t always make complete sense of it but that’s one of the aspects which make it so intriguing.
Started re-watching from series 1 and was delighted to find i'd missed out quite a few episodes, so get to experience them for the first time.
Some episodes are horrible stuff and I realise I must have watched them half concentrating as missed the main event!
The main security guy was saying we were lucky England lost, and that the pouring rain then washed the crowds outside away.
Could have been a lot worse.
I'm 15 minutes into that Wembley thing and I hate people. All of them.

They do require full engagement.

We should never be allowed to host a major tournament again.
If you're saying that then you'd have to say the same about France given what happened at the Stade de France a couple of years ago.
They're currently gearing up to host the Olympics of course.
We've got even more of Euro 2028, including the final. It'll happen again if England get there.
The reduced capacity was a huge factor.

Yeah, but the general arsery outside would be the same all over again

Glad to report - in a bittersweet way - that the new Shellac album, released today, is a fitting epitaph for the late Steve Albini.
Also, the new Kim Gordon album is fantastic - 71 years old and still making music more challenging than 99.9% of the stuff out there.
Ooh, didn't know she had a new album out. How Sonic Youth-y is it? Haven't listened to a whole lot of her solo stuff.
It's mostly electronic - probably closer to Ciccone Youth than Sonic Youth. Doesn't pull any musical punches though.
Sounds good. I shall give it a go!

But will you manage without food and/or using the bathroom during that period?
