Not a play-off game but Alex Samuel started for Ross County at Kilmarnock on Sunday, in the final SPL Relegation Group round. They needed to beat Killie to jump over them and avoid the play-off game with Championship side Partick Thistle, who thrashed Ayr United 8-0 in their two-legged play-off final.
In the event the Staggies lost 3-1 to Killie and face Thistle on Thursday, away, and on Sunday at home, to try and keep their place in the SPL.
Will always remember when he came in as a sub at the PNL after a long injury, could barely jog never mind run. Thought he would disappear into the US Uni coaching world.
Alex Samuel unluckily subbed off for Ross County after 17 minutes, because they have had a man sent off. He was lively up until then, Thistle lead 1-0.
Sounds an ideal move. Fairly local, stays in the same division, but for a dare i risk saying it, "lesser" club, where he'll have a better chance of starting more?
Obviously if our midfielders all stayed fit, then Freeman wouldn’t have had anywhere near as many minutes, but he did manage 1,800 mins for us last season. I’ll be quite surprised if he manages more for Stevenage. I hope he does become a regular there though. He seems like a great lad. Wish him all the best.
That's a mere 20 full games out of, 50 odd we play?
If he doesn't manage more for Stevenage we'd all be disappointed. Although they have just been promoted, and Horgan, although he did have real life issues going on too, found it's not easy to break into a successful team.
You correctly describe it as a ‘mere 20 full games’, but it would have been a lot less if we didn’t have that horrific injury crisis in central midfield. At one point we had Gape, Thommo, Scowen and Young all injured. Leathers was coming off the bench. Haha.
Paul Hayes is the new manager of Dunmow Town, who have won promotion to step six Eastern Counties League Division One South, after winning the Essex & Suffolk Border League Premier Division this season. Dunmow currently play at Heybridge Swifts. He joined Haverhill Rovers in January and made five appeances.
Departing message from Westy, citing a lack of support from Thame Football Partnership. As well as the management team, several key players have decided to leave as well.
Incredible stuff in that Grant article. Bradford and especially Taylor absolutely unbelievable actions to re-sign him, and even now it sounds like Taylor can't accept it was a correct imprisonment!
On a much much lighter note, we issued a wage increase based on hitting an 10th appearance?! Blooming heck.
Some of the guys at work were talking about Holly Valance (idk why), so I naturally shoehorned a Jonny Dixon mention in, and it got me thinking: was he the Nick Freeman of his day? Different position but similar clamour from what I remember (which isn't much - I was about 10!).

Lewis Wing linked with Preston, Rotherham and (surprise, surprise) QPR.
Charles Dunne turns down new contract at St Mirren
JP Pitman joins Brentford as coach.

Freeman signs for Stevenage. Could be a decent signing for them. Be surprised if he starts 25+ games for them with Evans in charge though.
Great move for Nick. Would not be surprised to see Gape and/or Thomson turn up there.
Evans might be (def is) a massive tw@t but he knows how to use the odd flair player and got lots out of Sergio Torres at Crawley. Good luck Nick.

Stockdale and Adiniran released by Sheff Weds.
It’ll be interesting to see how he develops at a side who’re aiming for twentieth. Very good luck to him.

Good luck to Nick! And congratulations to him on getting a move close to home. I hope he smashes it except in the two Wycombe matches.
Wish Nick nothing but good things.
The Adeniran release from Sheffield Wednesday .... now that would be lovely.
Would love it if we signed Dennis

An interesting read on Gavin Grant.

Should have been born in the Wild West era alongside the likes of Wyatt Earrp and Billy the Kidd.
Some extraordinary things in that article, but in the end a terribly sad story about so many wasted lives.
I remember reading it a couple of years ago. Absolutely wild stuff.

I've heard Lewis Wing is staying in the area, which may suggest he's going to play for QPR next season.
