Very happy to see Eze making his England debut. Proud of Wycombe’s contribution to his career. He came to us as a promising youngster. Three months later he went back to QPR straight into the first team squad. Brilliant.
Mehmeti wins his third cap for Albania, all off the bench. After three games they are in qualifying position for the Euros (2nd place). I suspect the deciding game will be the return match with Poland, who they narrowly lost to first time around.
Hard to understand why Martin gets the jobs he does. Lost as many games as he won at both MK and Swansea. OK but hardly stellar. Hard to see why he gets a top Championship club.
Always liked him. Sliding door moment for his career if the Bournemouth players weren't competing for the BAFTA for best dramatic performance in a Championship game.
I’m reluctant to go there @TheAndyGrahamFanClub for fear of resurrecting historic claims and counterclaims about Pattison’s footballing credentials! But I agree that the red card at Dean Court stalled his career at a time when he was showing considerable promise. Very much in the preferred Ainsworth style.
Since that game I've come to actively dislike Bournemouth. They came across as overly theatrical as you said, @TheAndyGrahamFanClub , and unpleasantly petulant, as demonstrated by Stanislas (I think it was), when he didn't receive the ball from a team-mate.
Also as a club, because of the decision to part company with Gary O'Neil, the manager who kept them in the Premier League. Seems to me to be a case of English, so not good enough.
I'm right there with you. I liked Bournemouth as the plucky upstarts up to then, but they came across as a bunch of Big Time Charlies, and fought with each other at one point! GA has rarely been as upset at a player as he was with the Bournemouth goalie.
He left both clubs in much better positions than he found them and Swansea have financial and ownership issues. Comparing win ratios is very blunt without knowing what he had to start from and the resources available. He's been pretty clear about how he wants to play and was happy to lose some games and conceed goals while it bedded in but they loved him at Swansea and Southampton will do well in the championship if they manage to sell the right players and reinvest.
I think I upset some before when mentioning Russell, as I like him as a manager and I am sure he will do well one day, but just don't see it (with his track record) as being an exciting appointment for a relegated team looking to get back to the Prem, myself.
In time honoured Gasroom tradition, I hope to be proved wrong.
QPR must be behind Gaz if they are allowing him to bring in all the Wycombe backroom staff. I suppose if you've got to deliver, you want the people around you who will do the best to make sure you do. Good luck to Mrs Wates.

Eze on the bench for England
Just coming on!

Mehmeti on the bench for Albania v Moldova.
Ditto. That’s why he is central to my profile pic.
Anis on as a sub on 67'.
Steve Arnold signs for Sutton United.
James Richings (BFP) describes Ebere Eze as having played as a winger for Wycombe. Surely he was an out and out attacking midfielder. A number 10.
Kevin Betsy assistant coach at Cambridge

I’d love to watch Mehmeti at the euros. Think he could be a standout performer by then.
Russ Martin is the new Southampton manager.

Alex Pattison has joined Bradford on a 3 year deal.
Good for him! May end up back in L1 with their aspirations.

He has a reputation for 'playing the right way'.

Hope they get relegated.

Lionel Ainsworth leaves Sudbury !!! 24th club expected next year
niche
I remember him at Watford (no idea why) - never knew he played for Wycombe!
He's only 35?!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Banton a mere 30
Paul Smyth linked with QPR
Is it 2010 again?

Thank you Watesy for all you did especially in those early difficult days. And for that goal that was then wasn’t.
