We should rekindle our ties with Brentford. We've had some cracking players from them over the years and the location is perfect for players who don't want to move.
I do wonder if Blooms will actually stay clear of too many ex-players coming back, so that he can cement being the Gaffer to new players who never played with him? It might be an opportunity to fashion his own squad in that way.
That being said, I would fly back over to drive Stewart from Milton Keynes to High Wycombe.
Also, surely Oxford will make a play for Tools? He still haunts their dreams, and Manning also had to deal with Stewart helping to crush his MK dreams last season. Surely they will go for him just to avoid having to play against him?
It's tough for the that generation, who learnt the game when defending was about defending, only to get to the autumn of their career and find that defending has become about possession.
He did bring the ball forward well at times and go on unlikely runs but not the best long passer of the ball - other than the very occasional worldy assist, and he was seemingly asked to do it a lot.
Obita staying could be big, we would definitely need to replace him if he goes. Then wether we want to play 4 or 5 comes into play with how many extra defenders we need.
The better lower league sides in possession tend to play with back five. With Tafazolli and Forino still around (and neither particularly agile enough in possession or fit enough to start consistently each week), I’d imagine Matt will continue with a 5.
Never one to want us to re-sign all of our former favourites but would have Stewart back in a heartbeat. Kaikai could also offer us something different in a Blooms system but not one I would be going for personally. If we’re talking ex-players I would want back, I’d be doing everything in my power to get Randell Williams back.
We need more goals up front, let’s bring back Jim Ray and Edward Crook, the goals they scored to win the High Wycombe Challenge Cup in 1890 were really special.

We might have had our share for the decade in one season
Danny Senda has joined the first team coaching staff at Charlton Athletic.
After hearing his astute commentary this past season, I have a feeling he will make a success of it!
Me too I had hoped we’d find a place for him to be honest.
Same.
He was good on comms, wasn’t he? Definitely knows the game.
As you would expect.
“Bristol City and Preston in race to sign AAH2” (footy insider - reliable source).
Corrrr…. It’s almost as if our old consultant is in the know again…..
It's more money and you get to sit on the bench and watch Nigel Pearson at work.
Anthony Stewart (end of loan) and Sullay Kaikai (end of contract) will be leaving the Franchise.
Many have already said it, but I'd definitely take Stewart back.
Hadn't realized Kaikai was only there till the end of the season. Tough break for him.
Ainsworth never fancied him but Matt might as he’s a ball player.
If he wanted to...Stewart coming back would be very welcome.

Believe Stewart is still contracted to Aberdeen.
Imagine a solution will be fund for him to play somewhere else though.
We can do better than Stewart, not good enough to play it out from the back. As Aberdeen found out.
I was thinking similar earlier, in one way, the fewer players who knew him as kind sweet Matt, the better really.
Any new player will only see him as their boss, pure and simple.
And a certain degree of ruthlessness is a key skill for a manager.
Oddly at the time there were quite a few on here who seemed to think him a ball player.
When in truth his signature ball was an aimless chip.
His signature ball was the one he'd just stripped the opposing forward of.
He was a pure defender. And despite what some would have us believe, that is the key part of being a centre back in this league.
However, he was no passer.
His main aim was to keep the ball out of the net... he was pretty good at that in my opinion

He produced the sporadic mad assist (for Smyth v Bolton and Kashket v Rotherham in 19/20 spring to mind) but erratic in possession overall

As seen in the play off final against Oxford he was man of the match after making so many brilliant blocks.
