Eze mentions his time with Wycombe in his first interview while with the England squad.
On his loan spell at Wycombe earlier in his career: "That was another difficult period. Not sure whether to go on loan or what to do. It helped me more than I knew at the time. It prepared me for the men's team and gave me confidence. Without that experience I don't know where I would be."
You're welcome and don't forget to sign for us in 2033 upon your international retirement and last few seasons in football.
I must admit it makes me rather smug about the general intelligence of the Wycombe fan base that we saw him play half a season in L2 as a teenager and pretty much to a person said he would play at a top six club and for England. Half of that is now almost correct, and barring injury, I expect the top six part will also happen in the next few years.
So a worthy addition to the "rumoured, very close, or can't believe he didn't play for England" category of ex Wycombe also including Steven Taylor, Roger Johnson and Williamson.
My daughter with possibly the most gifted player ever to wear the quarters. “remember the name…” as @bluntphil so portentously exclaimed when those first wonder goals went in (even if we didn’t know how to pronounce it!). Best of luck tomorrow son, not that you need it.
Didn't know that he was apparently close to coming back for a second spell but that ferdinand blocked it as felt he was ready for their first team squad (which to be fair he was)

He's set to start on Friday
Hang on, there's still international games?
How long is this season dragging on!
Two Euro qualifiers. Jack Grealish's involvement subject to hangover...
Oh no, call it a day for goodness sake.
Literally sick of it now. We need a decent break, but prem fixtures are out this Thursday, and ours the Thursday after.
I swear a few years ago you had a proper 2-3month break.

Players to represent England after playing for Wycombe? Guppy, Eze (all being well), umm...
Heaton
Dion Dublin.
Stephen Bywater, Luke Moore, Steven Taylor, Jordan Ibe (u21s)
Alfie Mawson
Mawson got a senior call-up under Hodgson didn't he
Didn't play.

He was well into the Southgate era I think.
Not an ex player, but a former partner/director.
Didn't last long after helping facilitate the Couhigs take over, but still heavily involved in football.

Who signed for Wycombe after playing for England? Rob Lee, Ray Wilkins, Cyrille Regis…anyone else?
It’s been worse the last few years due to the two Covid seasons and a winter World Cup.
Danny Wallace
Steve Guppy (unique in that he did before and after)
Ken Swain is another on the very close list. Was called up but didnt play.
Curtis Anderson.
He even won a World Cup
Well, he played 12 times for the England side which won the Under 17 World Cup in October 2017, a month after he turned 17.
Thanks, Eric.
What for?
That was from June 2022.
I think Mark Palmer quit Weymouth FC a couple of months later.
Glad Ebere made the decision he did. Hoping to see him in action tomorrow evening.
Seemed odd to see a reference to his wife. Still a boy in my eyes!

He always looks so excited - I love him
Little feature here on Eze.
