Wood it ? I lived a couple of miles from Aylesford Paper Mills as a boy (and uncle Jack worked there) but I’m too thick (thick as mince, in fact) to ‘get’ that one. Trust there’s no arse connection. (I didn’t get that one either.)
From what I understand Fred is out of contract in 5 weeks. He’s had three injuries keeping him out for chunks of the season and is a bit part player. Only played one full game all season and not due to be offered a new contract.
Fred clearly has a relationship of sorts with Gaz and Dobbo, they’ve signed him on multiple occasions and he seems to prefer living / playing in this area. Would I be surprised to see him at QPR? No, not really. We all know how Ainsworth likes signing players who have played for him before and assuming his exit from Wycombe went well, I think he could have a decent spell there if he can stay fit. Also, they have their state of the art training ground opening soon so that would be an additional pull.
Wasn't the thinking that Fred's exit went anything but well? Bearing in mind the club released an exceptionally pithy statement along the lines of "Fred? He's gone innit". Compared to some real tributes and big pieces for a lot of other players?
The excuse given was that the offices were being cleaned!
However, Gaz showed with the Stewart situation that he doesn't hold a grudge, and his top mantra is take the emotion out of the situation.
He will be desperate to put his stamp on things this pre-season and his time here showed that building the right culture takes time. He probably won’t be afforded that time at QPR so he will need to consider what he already knows in terms of players being the correct fit.
I couldn’t quite remember who had received the very brief statement when they left. As you say, Ainsworth doesn’t hold a grudge. I mean, Taff spent most of Gaz’s last season drinking at Revs (whatever that is) and Ainsworth continued to forgive him!

There's an echo in here today

Surprised no-one's asked if we get a fee for this
Sam Wood promoted to player/coach at Cray Wanderers.
Would have been more fitting if it was Cray Valley Paper Mills

Fred on for Luton.
I hope he scores an own goal with the last kick of the game as i hate Luton.
That makes two of us then.
Fred is a Premier League player.
No doubt we had the incredible foresight to put a big "prem promo" clause in there too.

I reckon he’ll end up at Plymouth.

Dayle Southwell has joined Gainsborough Trinity from Alfreton Town.

Not sure signing potentially crocked L1/championship bit players will endear Gaz and Dobbo to Premier League chasing QPR will.they?

Come on bossman, don't deny football fans their main fetish of thinking players have to go back to their previous club or previous manager.
Eze finished the season as one of the 23 PL players to score double figures
His career really took off after his brace at Cambridge, didn’t it.
More goals this season than £85m Darwin Nuñez
To be fair Nuñez only started 19 games.
Good weekend for ex Wanderers in the play offs. Two at Luton, two at Wednesday. And a good chance none of them will be at their clubs next season.
Out of the four and if we are going into the only signing ex-players strategy I would certainly like Denis Adeniran back.
Three at Sheff Wed @TheAndyGrahamFanClub
Fred + who at Luton? I'm drawing a blank. Dawson the other one at Wednesday.
Ohh, Muskwe
Only Adeniran would appear to suit the Bloomfield style of play employed thus far. Would be a solid signing
Dawson?
Yes - Dawson, Adeniran and Stockdale are ex-chairboys - the former two only on loan. I believe Dawson only played one game?
