In the absence of news Conor Parsons posted a tweet about looking forward exciting times ahead, that was retweeted by the club. I guess you could read that either way but I hope he stays. Only saw him a couple of times but he looked like he could deliver a good cross (and not a lofted catching practise one).
Really, really pleased about Horgan. Of the others, I can imagine Gape and Wing wanting to test the waters as a free agent, but surely Stocko, JJ and Stewart will all re-sign.
Surprised Horgan is the first to sign up. You'd surely have thought he'd be the one to "test the waters" as a free agent, alongside Wing who was already a short termer.
Can't see Gape scouring around for other offers when he's only played about 10 games this year?
JJ & Stocko would be a huge surprise not to see sign on.
Happy about this. I think Gape will stay too - once this club gets in someone's blood as much as it in his, it is almost a surprise if they leave of their own volition. At one point he would have been in line to be future captain (before Scowen came in and put him third in the pecking order behind Curtis also).
Happy about Horgs - he has never really had his moment in the sun, but I am hopeful at some point we will at least get "the Horgan game" where he puts in a performance for the ages, with a couple of goals.
Remember it is perfectly possible for contracted players not to be included in the squad eligible for EFL games. Can't remember if non-EFL squad players can play in FA Cup and Papa Johns games.
Jase will surely be wearing the armband more times than not next season, as JJ will probably play a smaller role on the field. The generals in my opinion will be JJ (club captain), McCarthy (vice captain) and Gape (already one of Gaz’s generals) plus probably Vokes and Stocko.
I genuinely feel that if we can get Wing to sign on, he will be like a new signing. A fresh, fit Lewis Wing with a decent pre-season behind him would surely walk into most teams in the league. I hope that the offer on the table is a 3 year deal.
Jason is a difficult one for the captaincy, for me, as I love the man, but don't think his place should be nailed on. It is difficult to find the right combination of definite starter + leadership ability, and Vokes may be the ideal after JJ. However, I agree with Gary on there already being an established pecking order, so it probably will be McCarthy.

Says in the article that Tafazolli is under contract for next season already
Taf has been listed as under contract for next season

If all outfield players stay that maxes the squad out at 22

Stewart I expect to stay too.
Goal keepers don't count and U21s don't?
So 22 without those 2 sets of players involved? Would have to be a couple of exits then unless Gaz is super happy we're good to go again as we are?
Well Parsons and De Barr going out on loan would bring it down to 20
It says we chose to activate an extension clause in his contract so he wouldn’t have had the opportunity even if he had wanted to.

Currently the following are senior over 21's and signed for next season excluding Goalkeepers
Grimmer
Taff
Wheeler
Thompson
Vokes
McCleary
Young
Kaikai
Horgan
Hanlan
Wakely
Freeman
Obita
McCarthy
Scowen
De Barr
Forino
Parsons
Total of 18
The following are signed as U21's or Goalkeepers
Leathers
Al-Hamadi
Mehmeti
Dickinson
The following four have been offered contracts
JJ
Gape
Stewart
Wing
Add these 4 to the 18 and we have a full squad of 22
If Stockdale signs he does not count towards the 22 as he is a Goalkeeper.
Happy about Horgs - he has never really had his moment in the sun, but I am hopeful at some point we will at least get "the Horgan game" where he puts in a performance for the ages, with a couple of goals.
I feel like Gape will move on in search of more regular football and the rest will stay, although that's nothing more than a hunch!
But we will need another, quicker LB regardless of whether JJ stays or not
J. Obita?
+1, especially is a LB/LW hybrid who might sometimes need to be used as we saw at the end of the season just gone
The other thing... If JJ and Tools both leave, who takes the captaincy? Vokes imo
Remember it is perfectly possible for contracted players not to be included in the squad eligible for EFL games. Can't remember if non-EFL squad players can play in FA Cup and Papa Johns games.
That's true, and I guess Wakely will also go out on loan

I totally forgot about McCarthy. Well, here's hoping that with great power comes great crossing ability.
Looks like there a four in the senior list who may end up on loan. The squad does need some new blood but maybe it is under 21's

Taff would make a great captain.
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm delighted that Horgan is staying
