I understand the club don’t want to give information to other clubs regarding the fitness of our players but it would be nice to at least get an update on players fitness without giving too much away.
For example, I know Matt has said Josh’s absence is down to illness and hopefully that isn’t something serious.
I heard a rumour that some people have strong feelings about whether the club should tell us about injuries or not, but I have never been able to substantiate it, as no-one ever posts about it.
Here, not so well! Many a time I have made what I thought was the dry quip to end all dry quips, only to be met with stony faced silence and the sound of pins dropping and mice yawning in the background.

Bayo would play himself
Steve Coogan as Saxondale would play a random poster on this forum.
That's a cracking likeness @MorrisItal2, but it's a little creepy that you would have his picture on your phone🤔.
And when he was tiny he was free and cheeped.

Not sure any of that makes sense but anyway ……..
The season hasn't even started yet but the debate about player injury/absence updates has already begun,🤕

@Shev 😊
@Shev , you live in the States, how does that irony work!

I once rented a car in Fort Lauderdale.
When I presented my driving licence, the guy behind the desk said 'High Wycombe? What state is that in?'
My reply: A pretty good state actually, all things considered.
Cue blank stares and tumbleweed.
As it's pre season, and we're all pouncing on any single words to trigger anecdotes...a quick one along the lines of your "state" meaning.
A recent call to the dentist had them annoyingly insist on a checkup before the inevitable, and obvious filling.
Was slightly put out by the way the receptionist said "we need to check what STATE your teeth are in".
I think the word she was looking for was "condition".
I miss the quizzes the most
Ok let’s have a quiz.
can you name all the towns or cities that have had at least two different clubs in the Football League in its history
all clubs must have the name of the town/city in the clubs name ( so liverpool and Everton don’t count)
name changes don’t count - must be different clubs
i need names of all the clubs for that town city for the point to be scored
Bristol (City, Rovers), Manchester (City, United), Bradford (City, Park Avenue)
Sheffield (United, Wednesday)
Burton (Swifts and Wanderers merged to form Albion)
Wigan (Borough, Athletic)
Accrington FC and Accrington Stanley are different clubs, strictly speaking, but I'm not sure if that counts?
those four all count.
others to get yet
I did a Sporcle quiz on this quite recently and I'm sure I'm missing a few random northern towns. Hmm...
Nottingham (Forest and County)?
strictly speaking no to Nottingham
notts county is shire not the town
Leeds (City & Utd), Notts (Forest & County)
Middlesbrough Ironopolis and Middlesbrough?
Accrington (FC & Stanley)
Leeds and Middlesbrough yes.
still lots more
Blackburn Olympic were quite successful but possibly pre-Football League, but maybe them and Rovers
