Surely have to try for a bit of possession today, Freeman and Wing seem unlikely to be able to win it back or press enough if we don't. That by accident or need is quite an attacking line up.
The thing is guys you need continuing wins to catch the top six. You have 3 games in hand on us that’s true but you’re the full nine points behind. Realistically Bolton are probably the only one of the top six you’ll catch but a win tonight is essential. You’ll forgive me if I don’t wish you luck but I will be watching. 😉
We are clearly down to last man standing. The bench is the weakest we have had for a very long time. Clearly being hit with injuries as we suffered at the beginning of the season. Not confident today that we will get the three points we need.
It’s quite negative on here. Wasn’t it obvious scowen was injured? This team should beat fleetwood. If it can’t we’ve got a very slim chance of playoffs.
Pleased McCleary's fit, that's a boost at least! Think the starting XI though not ideal, is as strong as we can manage at the moment. That bench though! Plenty of potential there, but a huge lack of experience.
Blooms brought on Pattenden ahead of him at the weekend which truly baffled me. Whilst Pattenden hasn't been given a fair chance, he's been absolutely rubbish every time when brought on.
So is that a 433 with Wheeler in the Scowen role alongside Wing and Freeman? It could well work... hopefully we'll get to see Ward and Pattenden come on and show what they're about, plus Campbell and De Barr on from 60 mins or so to add guile and a battering ram to our attack (which might bamboozle their defence!)
Let’s look at it differently the bench is an unknown quantity. We have not as yet seen how some of the development players will perform when playing alongside first teamers. COYB!

McCleary starts. Yay!

Good thing we didn't clear out a load of decent squad players in January, eh
Did we lose anyone who you'd have started today?
That's a very young bench
Probably not, but we'd have had more strength in depth. Then again, I guess it was necessary as a cost-cutting measure.
And strength in debt.
True, but maybe opportunities for some.

No Scowen no party

I think the bench is very slim

If we get to the playoffs without Josh, Curtis or Gapey reappearing I might tattoo Wingys face on my backside
True, but I am hoping that by the end of the game, De Barr is set high.
I'll tattoo Wing's backside on my face.
Decent starting 11 given the injuries we are carrying, bench is a bit light but have attacking options in DeBarr & Campbell

Not like you to find a negative in every situation. Were we supposed to anticipate these injuries?

I very much hope it’s three in midfield if Scowen is out and Freeman is in midfield. That three feels like a nice blend actually.
Bit harsh to say he hasn't had a "fair" chance. He's a development player and they have to either be exceptional off the bat or bide their time.
To be fair he looked a foot shorter than anyone else on the pitch on Saturday and was the immediate target for 3 high punts
Yes!
Jack Grimmer has been a revelation this season
Get in
Good chipped cross from Grimmer lovely header from Forino
That’s a very valid point. Christie Ward for example could well shine.
Wowsers!!
