I can't see him going from a (reported) £110,000 a week contract to, at most, £7,500 a week contract at Wycombe. Also, I'm pretty sure that we'd need to sell, loan out or release at least 2 Midfielders in order to justify getting another!
I didn’t bloody know. I came new to this thread this morning and hadn’t a clue what the recent discussion was about. I googled and discovered it was an Everton forward who appears for some reason to have fallen out of favour.
I remember leaving the last game of the 2003/04 season away at Peterborough with mixed feelings.
Sad to see the legend of Brownie play his last game, but exceptionally excited at what Tyson would do to league 2 having given Peterborough and other league 1 teams a good going over.
Social media has undoubtedly played a part, but the internet in general has hit print media by making the news cycle so much faster. Dailies still have value, but a weekly paper is as good as useless in this day and age.
That said, it's not impossible to still have success with print. Until recently - and maybe this is still the case - Private Eye's circulation was actually growing.

The latest BFP article about Ross Barclay is very funny indeed. Especially if the Tweets I saw embedded are the same for all.
Would that be Ross Barkley, I wonder? I’ve bin scratching me ‘ead.
No way is Ross Barclay coming to Wycombe, you can bank on that
Could well be. But then you know it anyway. Spelling or spell check. You decide.
He's a free agent, so we can't even take him on loan.
Glad to give you some Twitter content @ReturnToSenda . You are welcome

A no interest loan you might say!
Feel bad for the BFP guy having to scratch up a story on that. They used to be a serious publication.
Is there a link to the story? Having established who is the subject of it (and having rated him very highly in the past) I’d quite like to read it.
It does sound like Gaz wants a few more in ….. which I’m pleasantly surprised by.
Enjoy... https://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/20860862.ross-barkley-join-wycombe-wanderers-league-one/
All jokes aside we really need to have eyes on Anis at all times tomorrow. Can we set up a rota?
Let’s kidnap him and hide him in @micra’s house.
Anis is the most exciting talent I have seen since Nathan Tyson
Eze was also very exciting but obviously in loan. Great player though.
That’s a great shout. We were at such a low ebb when Tyson arrived it was like watching a player from an alternate reality.
Some transfer rumours (realistic ones) would be nice to spice up the week. Guessing no one’s heard of any possible names?
Mani Hertz, young LB released by Watford
The "BFP" is just some keen young kid though isn't it?
And it's just the "BFP Online" rather than the actual BFP which probably has to keep stuff a little more sensible.
The fact this kid said last night was our first clean sheet of the season to Gaz shows the level of detail involved.

But it’s on BFP online isn’t it? Not somekeenyoungkid online.
I do sympathize with him, social media has killed the rhythms and value of print media.
Wasn’t he injured in the first game of the next season? Some things never change.
Can't remember that to be honest but I do remember the frustration of goon defenders man handling him repeatedly.
I was trying to find his goal at Oldham towards the end of the season we went down, but only the Oldham wins have been uploaded from that season.

Unplug the fax machines and cut the phone lines, just to be sure
