FFS all athletes are prone to injury, footballers are no different, some players are unluckier than others but I see no evidence to suggest that Forino is unluckier than any other player at picking up an injury.
Equally certain injuries often carry long term consequences including weakness in that area leading to a higher likelihood of recurrance, this likelihood increases with age; which is the risk with both Mawson & Taffazoli & Freeman in particular & possibly McCarthy & Thompson.
Oue medical & sports science teams are very good for L1 and we should have faith that they know what they are doing especially when it comes to rehabilitation & conditioning work; clearly an area the club is focussed on given the recent job adverts.
None of this is screaming at me the need to bring in a bench warmer at CB or CF, we have decent cover iin the latter position, albeit it means a slightly different style of play & tactics & we have (when fit) 3 realy good L1 CBs plus a progressing youngster in Wakely as well as others in the development squad.
I would be very surprised if we bring in anyone else at first team level in this window.
He clearly does think he can do a job or he wouldn't bring him off the bench, would he? That's what I meant by 'backing him'. I hope I'm not shutting down the discussion 😊
Indeed. Surely if we need a target man and he's a target man what do you lose by giving him a shot? (Admittedly I know nothing about coaching or management.) He looked useful in his cameo.
some people are delicate buttercups, I can say what I like it's my view ! I have seen enough football to understand where the clubs priorities lie ....find a gem and sell on ....nothing wrong with THat just frustrating that we are so close to something special however seems Rob prefers a other approval especially when he said we are going for autos lol
This comment - our medical and sports science team are very good for League One - crops up regularly. It may be absolutely the case, I certainly hope it is. But what is that based on? Just comments by Rob and Gareth? Or actual evidence? I genuinely don't know how our set up compares to other teams. Do we have different / better facilities? (I remember from the Sunderland documentary them crowing about a cyro chamber which I suspect we don't have (and yes I also remember it was barely used and that Sunderland are now in the Championship). Are our staff better qualified or have more training then their equivalents at other clubs? Do we have more staff or more specialists?
All genuine questions. We do have a lot of training ground injuries, particularly muscle strains, and players out for perhaps longer than one might expect. But again, I don't know how that compares to injuries at other clubs. Maybe ours are not out of proportion at all. I simply don't know.
The heatwaves can't have helped - surely only so much you can wager the training ground? Another instance in which an indoor facility would be really beneficial.
Not sure about educating anyone but here’s what I think (yes, I picked that one up from Jeremy Clarkson, not a favourite person but very funny on Who Wants to be a Millionaire).
I think @ReturnToSenda is saying that he’s sick to his back teeth with reading relentlessly positive comments from people he suspects are blind to the concerns which he has about particular situations or, worse, are merely toeing the party line.
Nah, just thought it strange to see the drummer described as anything but overwhelmingly optimistic! I've never seen a remotely negative remark from him about the team.
Love a development squad signing. In my mind they are always a gem that we have unearthed. No facts. No knowledge. No information at all. It’s my brain from Football Manager 95/96 when the new batch of youth players came through that has taken me to this place.
That was me, @ReturntoSenda, in my description of a certain poster. What I meant to convey was they both - drummer/poster - at times show a relentless approach to their chosen theme - positive/negative however out of step or inappropriate it may be.
In both cases managing to get on many people nerves.
Comments
more development team signings, will be nice if Gareth addressed the 2st team needs ...
100% agree. If you think he can do a job, then they would be starting in their natural position rather than trying to have someone fill-in.

Quartersman80 is like the gasroom equivalent of the terrace drummer.
Same old tune, never miss a chance to be negative and mostly out of step with those around him
Isn't the drummer almost always nauseatingly positive?
Buddy, move on
how have I been negative? just stating the fact that the development squad seems to be a higher priority than the 1st team , how is that negative
You still haven't answered my question
@Quartersman80 You had an opportunity to be positive about 2 development squad signing ,who I am certain you've never seen play.
Instead of welcoming them to WWFC and praising them on taking that step you took a swipe at the club.
Ever post you make is negative.
@Twizz It helps to see @Quartersman80 as the Gasroom equivalent of the 'oooooooooh you're shit-ah' at every club announcement.

Nauseatingly positive. Now there’s a phrase to conjure with!

Can’t imagine you can draw many positives from feeling sick. Come on @micra, educate me?

Wycombe have certainly benefited from access locally (? Princes Risborough) to cryotherapy.
Nah, just thought it strange to see the drummer described as anything but overwhelmingly optimistic! I've never seen a remotely negative remark from him about the team.
But what I said does apply to you @ReturnToSenda. I’m sure it does.
Confess I haven’t seen the drummer reference. Nor do I want to.
Sometimes lol

Had to laugh at that.
Stop being so positive!!
Stop posting everyone. I keep telling myself that’s it, lunch and WATO and yet another thread title emboldens.
Sorry, World at One - Radio 4.

Ah, gotcha!
And they both have a pretty negative view of the Gasroom ☺️
