I’m in a minority, I’m pretty sure, in not “getting” David Wheeler. I think it’s because, to me, he very rarely has the ball at his feet for more than a couple of seconds and even more rarely does he run with the ball or take someone on. I was delighted when he signed because I remembered him scoring fairly freely for Exeter (although I didn’t recall having actually watched him in action at the time).
Intelligent, personable guy, too, and I feel bad about my failure to recognise what others clearly do. I must try harder and will comment positively if the opportunity presents itself, which Sod’s Law guarantees it will!
Can't remember which thread this conversation was on, but this is an interesting read on Covid postponement regulations in the Bundesliga and Serie A. The EFL could learn a thing or two.
Interesting article in the Times today. It seems even the Millwall CEO is starting to think twice about taking his son to games, families and sponsors and advertisers are being put off and people on the fan forum have been warned not to come to games or they'll get a kicking...all because patriots are still sniffing drugs in the loos, booing the knee, being racist (though without knowing them all it is hard to judge individual reasons) and other general unpleasantness. Who could have predicted that?
aye. "The battle of the Globe" with a couple dismissed and a couple injured for either side in a passionately fought 0-0 draw which ultimately satisfies nobody.
Digne and Cash hit in the head by seemingly the same bottle after scoring at Everton. Looked quite nasty. That's why they take your lids away... Football arrests are [up almost 50% since 2019/20](Football arrests 'highest in years' & disorder on the rise - police - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/60056492).
Watford sack Ranieri according to Twitter reports. Now looking for their 15th manager since 2012-13. Basket case doesn't even start to describe that club.
West Brom manager accuses opponents of time wasting and says "that is now a typical game for us. Opponents just waste time and don't want to play football.". Saturday's opponents? None other than our bleating friends from Cambridgeshire.

He was very effective interchanging with Knight as a kind of moving part in the short-lived 4-1-4-1 last season

Wheels is an odd one. When he’s playing I often think he’s one of the best players we’ve got, but when he doesn’t play I don’t miss him.
Some truth in that, he doesn’t make the first/starting 11 right now.

Play got stopped at Doncaster today after a Donny fan nicked one of the towels Wigan were using to dry the ball with for long throws ?
Another great result for Reading, giving up a lead in the last few minutes. Peterborough turned over again too.
I know it's Col U, but this is grim.
It’s refreshing to see such an honest, frank response during an interview…
…
…maybe.
Just watched that, so Brent!
Got to be some dare from the squad to get a number of their stupid phrases and words into one interview surely.
I don’t know how he kept a straight face...
That has to be a planned joke.
_That is fun

So we need Morecambe to knacker themselves out beating Wigan tonight then?

Except Wycombe.
Morecambe 1-0 up against Wigan!
Wigan equalise just before half time.
Fulham involved in a third straight game with 7+ goals of which they've scored at least 5
Col U have sacked their manager
More of this
£8.00 a portion?
I think this is a good move. Hard luck, Chelsea!
Chelsea will just loan out 20-30 u21 then.
And then be even more cynical selling loads off at 21 for profit.

Take a bow sir!
