I'd say he's probably on close to 10k a week hence the years contract.... I could be completely wrong but he's still a championship standard player. Even at 10k a week that's half the money we got for Uche
Yeah, have to look at any signings in terms of total cost over the time of the contract in our post Bosman world. Doesn't really matter how much it is broken down into transfer fee, signing on fee or wages except for how it counts towards allowed limits.
Just noticed on the club website under the players section that we appear to have three profiles called Trialist 1, 2 and 3 under the 'midfielders' section ar the time of writing. Potential signings who are trialists on the way in perhaps?

Since Brexit are we now in the post-post Bosman world?
I’d assumed that was based on freedom of movement and work within the EEC but surely that’s no longer the case?
It was based on EU law and I think the Government possibly have the ability to change it now if they want to legislate to do so for domestic transfers although I can't see why they would, or them getting involved.

Oh okay. Thanks @StrongestTeam. I hadn’t really looked into it. A quick search suggests work permits may be required now but that’s about it
Yeah, Bosman was all about wether you were allowed to hold someone's registration after their contract expired, Work Permits are a whole different area.

The more I think about it - GA knew Onyedinma was going since Luton's pursuit had been lengthly - Obita was signed as his replacement.
Yes, a few people are shoehorning Kashket and Horgan into that position, but Obita is a specialist there.
Interesting listening to the Q&A with Gaz from last night. He views Wakely and Pendlebury as being on the verge of the first team. He was also asked about Ibe - ‘we talked about it, there’s many factors that go into it, don’t worry it wasn’t one that we missed’. The Ibe question is in the last five minutes of the video.
Yes I was there last night and was sitting very close to GA. He took the question very seriously and I guess in the future (when the book is published) we will discover the machinations Richard and Gaz went through. I'll bet they were of differing opinions and Richard came out tops!

Do you think Richard decided (after due deliberation) that on, balance, offering Jordon Ibe a contract at the present time was not a good idea and that GA found his arguments persuasive ?
Yes, with the excellent squad (including the youth development squad) now looking pretty well fuller formed and with Richard Dobson drawing on his (I assume) greater familiarity with Jordon Ibe’s ‘qualities’, I can imagine that they might have agreed that the timing was not quite right to offer him a contract. But, who knows, there could be further pleasant surprises!
Bit unlike the GasMan there to get so involved in speculation? There's rumours and then there's just other people's players who maybe could do a job if...
Looking at the pictures of him, Alfie Stanley was the player who wore number 10 at Hanwell on Friday. Scored a good goal and didn’t do himself any harm.
I imagined Dobbo dressed like a head nun singing “”How do you solve a problem like Maria?” with Gareth replying “how do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?”

It'd be a hell of a move for us to be paying that much in league one.
Unless your signing a young player, much better to pay high wages to an experienced player than waste it on a transfer fee.

What made you choose kiscokid as your Gasroom username, Mr. Howard?
Joking apart, great shout.

Obita was signed well before Fred switched to LWB, so surely he just came in as we were sorely lacking in depth at LB.
Wish we could create hybrid players with Obita defensively and other going forward. Horgita or Obishket would be an amazing wingback!
Eccentric Colombian goalkeeper and the only Uzbek member of the Soviet Union team?

Kashket with his pace and excellent attitude will wipe out any division 3 opposition. Football is a simple game

Good morning @micra, yes for no good reason I seem to have formed that opinion.?

‘fully formed’ not ‘fuller’.
This is an excellent shout
Another trialist name...

Think I may have missed the allusion there @LeedsBlue. No-one of that name or of slippery disposition has been mentioned have they?
Sign him up! What a goal!
