I have always preferred the Plymouth approach, where the goalkeeper rushes to kick off with a 1-0 lead, the defenders place the ball on the corner for the opposing team, the players retreat 15 yards on free kicks just to be sure, the Plymouth players rush into the net to pick the ball out if conceding a late goal that brings their opponents back to 2-1, and the players jump up from head wounds, too ashamed to waste any time whatsoever.
“It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you tears them up.” Not sure if you’re quite old enough to remember that one @Wendoverman but it was the catchphrase of Jon Pertwee in the character of a hapless old West Country postman.
