Craig Mackail-Smith came on as an 83rd minute sub for Bedford Town yesterday in their 1-0 win over St Neots Town to maintain top spot in the Southern League Central Division. Decent crowd for them too at the New Eyrie: 657.

Was it at Filbert Street in 2001 that Steve Brown brought his little boy on to the pitch? If I’m right, incredible to think he must now be 20+!
Sounds like the guy needs some love, he's certainly had a rotten time. I hope his professional advisors are there for him and not just trying to squeeze the last out of their golden egg. Part of me already knows that answer.

I’m not sure even Gaz & Dobbo could turn him around now. Seems like that ship has had its final sail. Such a waste of an immense talent
Even if it wasn't with a view to him gracing the famous quarters again it might be nice to see him train with a team at least to get him into a loving football family experience. He's been in football since a baby really and then to find yourself at home twiddling your thumbs must be terrible. Football can be cruel in terms of putting people on a pedestal and then dumping them.

Sandell was like an early day version of JJ.
Pens set pieces etc.
Not as likeable. Though that is a difficult one as Jj has to be in our top 5 or so likeable players ever.
Yep, he's the one I was thinking of !
Yep, that’s him. Realised after I asked the question.
A very poor man’s JJ for sure.
Reece Styche hits a hatrick for Stourbridge yesterday.

We couldn’t, could we?
Wouldn't that be something ! Alas I'm guessing we wouldn't be able to get near the wages
Only yesterday, wasn't it, @micra?

Indeed it was @Twizz and all our troubles seemed so far away.
Is that Steve Guppy in one of them photos?
Yeah, and Stefan Oakes

Wycombe: Taylor, Townsend, Bates, Cousins, McCarthy, Vinnicombe, Bulman, Simpson, Brown, Ryan, Clegg. Subs: Lee, Osborn, Essandoh, Castledine, Johnson.
Very easy to forget that Leicester had beaten Liverpool at home the weekend before and I believe we're riding as high as 6th?
Incredible day that was.
I checked their record and they lost 9 out of their last 10 league games after losing to us and finished 13th.
We hadn't incredible effect on their season!
The Peter Taylor effect
Apologies for the slight typos...phone didn't allow the correction!
I'll never forget the camera suddenly cutting to Taylor's expectant face as Akinbuyi (sp?) was clean through on goal and then missed...
Uche got the opener for Middlesborough today.

Doesn't do tap ins does he? Great goal.
A very sad end to a career that could have been so different.
