Match Day Thread: Wealdstone (FA CUP)
Considering the scheduled kick-off time tomorrow, I'm posting this today.
For those unable to attend in person tomorrow, you should be able to watch the match on ITV1, ITV X, and STV in the UK.
When it comes to WanderersTV i'll need ethier @bluntphil or @ProducerLuke_ input, as i suspect being the FA cup it might be Audio only.
For our international Chairboys, I've sourced the following information from the FA website, so you should be able to find your broadcaster below.

Haven't looked forward to a game as much as this in a while. I'll have family in both ends, could be a fun one!

Note: "If avoidable do not bring a bag larger than 20cm x 15cm x 5cm (8" x 6" x 2") this equates to a small handbag."
The clubhouse is only open to home fans, full catering in the away section. I've always found the food good there. Programme is £3.
The paucity of my Wealdstone supporting days (three or four years in the early/mid ‘sixties compared with 56 years as a Wanderer) mean that I don’t have divided allegiances but I do have an incipient wariness about factors (size and state of pitch, physicality of opposition, gelling of players who might not have played too many matches together) which could make this a potential banana skin.
Nevertheless, I’m really looking forward to watching the build-up over breakfast and (potentially) extra time over brunch.
I will of course watch the intervening 95 minutes as well.
Breakfast and a beer before 10am.
Worrying times.
I hadn't realised the small extent to which this game is in fact the "@micra @micra derby". I think half and half scarves are always not quite the thing, but in this case it would need to be a 1% / 99% scarf, perhaps some white tassels as a nod to the sixties.
@micra if you think about it, a 'potential banana skin' is a banana pip. Nobody has ever slipped up on one of those. This is an actual banana skin that we will try to identify and avoid before slipping on it.
You've never been to Aylesbury then...
Cheer up , You're on holiday
Or any other town with a Wetherspoons.
Can’t say I want anymore 11.30am kickoffs.
Lunch and a beer would be my preference.
No argument there, 1130 kickoffs are stupid, we should really have all boycotted it but there we are, football obviously doesn't care about fans. At least it's local.
It'll have to be a Post match beer.
Marlow has a wetherspoons now !
Nothing to stop us making our thoughts clear on the telly
But who do you blame for it?
There's a game on at Wembley in the evening, England Women's v USA, which will have had to be considered for timetabling the TV (not a major factor but definitely there).
Gin and Tonics and Eggs Benedict before 10am.
But a 12:30 kick-off would still be finished in plenty of time
There are also 4 ITV channels. There's no excuse for such a ridiculous kick-off time.
So you're blaming ITV?
(That's fine I've got no issue, but we need to get the chant coordinated).
I assume it's largely ITV's responsibility. The FA probably have some say too?
I don't think boycotting would do anything here. What do the TV companies care if there's a crowd? They can pump in fake noise if they want to - they did during the Covid games...
Disagree, the COVID game atmosphere was awful, the broadcasters want events with the grounds full, and all the love of the cup silver foil garbage, unfortunately they also want games at all hours so their channels are full and so they can claim better coverage than others.
One game won't make a difference but it could catch on pretty easily.
ITV decide the kick off time. It's likely due to avoid the 3 o'clock race at Newbury, also on ITV1 - the Coral Cup. A 12:30 KO and extra time would extend our game past 3pm.
No lie in for @micra tomorrow!
He's not the only one having to get up earlier than they would wish. Breakfast at 10am in JJ Moons is eagerly anticipated.
🥓🍳🍅☕
The Stoke game was one of the worst match experiences in all my years.
Pre match bowl of porridge and a Cappuccino, love the FA Cup.
A very nice Weatherspoons at that.
@Shev and @floyd won't even get time for breakfast before the game, more like late night chocoa then straight to the game.
It would be a good chant if anyone can get "Too soon" to rhyme with "Wetherspoon". Up the Armchairboys Army.
"Just had our breakfast! We've only just had our breakfast!"
