My history of being absolutely shocking at predicting a result has, once again, come true. This was my “other reasons” for doing that prediction. I’m hopeless at it
Good learnings for Blooms ahead of January. It's not really rotation anymore. Our best 11 is far better than the reserves and some of them will want out.
More importantly professional job done and 11 wins in a row in all conditions and competitions is magnificent.
Won a tough game with a rusty second string and into the Third Round, which is another incredible achievement. Not going to pull apart individual performances as enough mentioned on who looked on it and who didn’t. Only blot is Kone’s goal. Richard, you really shouldn’t be shrugging off multiple challenges and burying the ball into the net on live TV.
Don’t think Shev does MOTM threads for cup games but if he did I’d vote Skura. Looked really assured, passed the ball well, won all his headers - none of the loose play we saw from Taff next to him. Most of the team ranged from average to poor, Kone excellent when he came on
I think we're being overly critical of the rotated side. At times, we dominated possession and controlled the game in spells. While there were some sloppy moments, that’s to be expected when players who haven’t started regularly are involved.
As for January, I doubt there will be significant changes to the squad. Perhaps McCarthy might leave, and it’ll depend on what happens with the loan players, but I expect a relatively stable group moving forward.
We were never going to win 4-0. They were motivated and gave it their all, but we delivered a professional performance. That’s exactly what a promotion-chasing team needs to do against opposition that can only dream of the resources, stadium, and assets we have now.
It's a results business and we'll all look forward to the 3rd round draw, but aside from the objectively positive outcome, subjectively it was disappointing that very few of the starters today took the opportunity to press a claim for a 1st XI spot.
Anyway, in all the excitement of the last two rounds, did the traditional FA Cup poem pass me by?
Tough game. A couple of players didn’t do themselves many favours when it comes to first team selection but on the whole 9 out of the starting 11 put the effort in and showed off the squad depth.

That’s a great goal from where he received the ball.
Cesay for them looks a very good player
Morley now cup tied... excellent thinking
Him and Cook have been their standouts for sure
Brilliant from Richard Kone.
The less said about the rest of them the better. 🤐
Cook really good for sure
If we get Aston Villa in the third round I will smash a cup.
Ha. That is a superb conspiracy theory which I hope is true.
I think Cook had EFL interest but chose to stay part-time
Win 2-0 with a terrible second string team and yet another dodgy goalkeeper? I'll take it.
If we weren’t 2-0 up in the last minute I’d be fuming that’s not a pen
It's not a pen BECAUSE we're 2-0 up in the last minute.
Yes!

Kone looking like prime R9 at the end.
That massive club are out already 😂
Job done

Great post match interview with the 2 goalscorers
For what? Bolton are out.
I wasn’t too impressed with George’s handling, he dropped two crosses and missed one.
However his save from the Wheeler backpass and his reaction to the deflected shot were fantastic.
Job done, more or less exactly the sort of game i was expecting. Can enjoy the rest of the weekend now!
Strange Bolton didn't stop him playing. Not being cup tied would have helped any sale to another club in January.
Anyone else who might be interested

That’s about all you can say about it.
Let’s hope we’re not still playing midweek games when we play one of the big boys in the third round. We’ll need the first team.
“Their best player was their goalkeeper”. The Wealdstone manager. Really?

Man Utd please 🤞
