It is not even a consideration - why would he join a yo-yo club compared with one backed by the billions he adores? Get off our messageboard and get a life @Boosh
Do you remember the league cup tie in 1993? That second leg was one of the greatest games I've ever seen. We'd been a non-league club only months beforehand and there we were taking a 4-0 lead against a Premier League side
Certainly the odds would have tumbled the second even a few people put a pony or two on Blooms after getting an irresistible tip like that.
I don't think anyone is denying the Coventry City job is bigger than the Wycombe Wanderers one, maybe people like me are naive to think that someone as emotionally invested in our club as Blooms can see the strategic benefit to completing at least more of the job he's started here before jumping in the first cab that appears on the rank.
I think if Blooms is offered it he will almost certainly go. It’s a huge opportunity, I assume a big pay rise and a chance to manage at a higher level.
FWIW I really don’t think they’ll offer it to him, seems too early in his career for that job.
Have Coventry got their own ground these days, or are they still camping out in Birmingham or renting somewhere? Of course, unlike the mighty Wanderers, they were too weak to see off @bargepole ’s beloved Wasps.
perhaps because at our absolute lowest, we still battered Wycombe almost every time we played. Our best player is worth more than your whole squad and probably stadium too
The thing is, you've made it personal and we normally don't. I understand your point and I get where you are coming from but if a Premier League team came in for Matt, we'd be very hard up to keep Matt and if their fans came on the forum and said such, they would have that right. However, my issue comes from making it so personal doesn't sit right. We don't know each other, unless we choose to make ourselves known, on this forum and there is a line between "banter" and "abuse"
You think the fans of Premier League teams have a right to come in and casually discuss carving up our team if they fancy it, 'just making an innocent enquiry out of interest about who we might cherry pick with not a second's thought about how it might affect your season'? And by extension, a middling Championship club is bigger than a middling League One club, so their fans can be as obnoxious as they like to anyone below them. This doesn't cross your line, but calling someone a wanker for doing so and coveting his missus as he covets our manager (with respect you understand) is beyond the pale. I think different things sit differently with us old bean. If any Chairboys were 'bantering' with Athletic Newham when Kone was coming to us or even with Colchester when they caught the tail end of the Rangers-QPR-Wycombe managerial merry-go-round, I think they would have deserved some abuse.
Tbf it’s always exciting to support a special club like Wycombe Wanderers. Size is irrelevant. We are a family club that has consistently punched above its weight in budget terms and, for example, has played at Wembley more often than some of the biggest clubs in the country. Of course we’re excited. We are playing Premier League style football (style underlined) with an attacking approach which has made us comfortably top scorers in the whole of the four division setup.
We are very proud of what we are (and have always been for as long as anyone can remember). I’m 86 so I can speak with some authority.
@Ed_ History has shown that Wycombe and other lower league teams have always been "feeders" to club in the divisions above. This happens with managers and players and has happened throughout our history and we have a proven record of managers being taken from our club to go up to the higher leagues in the English game, it happens. The great Martin O'Neil, John Gregory, Lawrie Sanchez, Paul Lambert, Ainsworth have all left us (either sacked / resigned and then moved or were signed from us) to go onto "bigger" clubs and opportunities. It's the same that this has worked since football began.
Yes, @Boosh came in the wrong way and didn't / hasn't helped himself throughout the chat. I'd like to think that the attitude and mindset that he had when he first started positing shows him the error of his ways and there are still a lot of fans out there that still see them as a "big-time" club and they haven't moved into the modern day.
I'm not aware of going onto other team's forums to boast or rub them up when we are in the process of signing their player. It's not what I feel the members of this forum does. From the examples that I've seen, if someone from Wycombe has joined another team's forum, they have been respectful and in most times, the team's fans have been respectful in return.
However, his wife has done nothing to be brought into this forum? If you need to personally insult him, leave it at just him. In my mind, you crossed the line when you included his family or people that have nothing to do with the topic of the forum.

A colleague who supports Coventry calls them "Cov".
Heartbroken to learn that offends anyone....
how old are you @Boosh ?

He is going to be on all the lists now - Hull have not even sacked their manager yet!
I did not feel cheeky enough to start a 'Bloomfield to Hull' thread. 😁
He will definitely be linked to a lot of jobs now, we're going to have to get used to it
Get used to it? The Gasroom usually starts it...
I would take Blooms being in the leading odds for every Champo job from now on, because it means we are still smashing it!
Have Coventry got their own ground these days, or are they still camping out in Birmingham or renting somewhere? Of course, unlike the mighty Wanderers, they were too weak to see off @bargepole ’s beloved Wasps.
And it gets worse…
Not to mention David Icke!

Even in Birmingham we coasted to a league one title. You know that league you’re rotting in.
Too weak to see off Wasps, remind me where they are now.
Let’s hope these billions you’ve got can get you 3 points against us one day. There’s always hope
You are a spotty 13-year-old virgin - with to much time on your hands.... again why are you on this messageboard? @Boosh
Time to ban now I think @drcongo
Too much*
Even a 13 year old virgin can spell a 3 letter word pal
Unnecessary. At some point in the very near future, Lampard or another 'big name' will be appointed, and he'll slink off.
Thanks for coming, but you're sort of overstaying your welcome now.
See Van Nistelrooy is now in the betting for the Coventry job. Lampard still favourite with Bloomfield now out to 16/1. ( Sky Bet)
Why is anyone bothering replying to @Boosh . Like most annoying things, ignore and they go away.
Carsley probably. Sad times

Their ground is owned by Mike Ashley and they rent from them every month / season
Ah bless, the kid's all heart but has the personality of a trudge from Yeovil Junction station to Huish Park.
Tbf I can see why you lot are getting excited. The top 4 in the betting odds have last managed:
Chelsea, England, Manchester United and Wycombe.
Must be very exciting for you to be among those teams for once
Great baiting you degenerate

He definitely doesn't have a wife.
He needs one!
