Obviously all Wycombe fans are desperate to retain Mr Wycombe as manager. If the current momentum on the pitch is to be maintained, it is clearly imperative that appropriate measures should be in place to reduce as much as possible the risk of him being enticed away by lucrative offers elsewhere.
Probably by far the greatest likelihood of that happening would be a situation in which we narrowly miss out on promotion and Ipswich are relegated. Heaven forfend!
With Matt being so emotionally attached to this special club and with funds available (I hope it’s reasonable to assume) to make him counter offers that he would find impossible to refuse, I’d like to think that we can all relax in the expectation that he’ll be going nowhere for the “immediate” future.
Meanwhile, let us luxuriate in the current sensation of happiness that everything in the garden is truly rosy.
They sacked a good mate of his and it's fairly obvious he's not at all happy about (I've taken his brother's tweet as a proxy for his own thoughts on the matter)
We can only hope that somewhere in there is a professional relationship that is strong enough to overcome it but I'm far far more worried about him leaving since that happened than I was before, and it would be a real real shame.
Agreed, I think if the right job came along he would take it. Which would be sensible given the owners have already replaced the majority of the back room staff with their own appointments.
Hopefully we can keep hold of him for the season, although I sense we're better set up to absorb his departure than we were Gaz's (the structure behind the scenes seems sound). That was never going to be smooth given how long he'd been in charge, although we weren't really struggling for long.
I hope that people do not do that as this is a personal matter between Scott and the club. Blooms has already given the response in an interview that I have pasted below just so that people know he has given his position. As they say in a court of law ‘I refer you to my previous answer’
‘The club is going in a different direction. We are going data led and he did an incredible job for our football club in the 18 months. He left a very secure position at Ipswich Town to follow me and believe in what I wanted to do last summer and I can’t thank him enough for what he’s contributed. He was not a close friend before we worked together even though I’d known him for a long time. But from working together we speak every day on the phone discussing players and transfer window and disappointing to lose an incredible guy who did a great job for us but club is heading in a different direction and that is the decision that has been made’
I appreciate your point (and personally, don't think there really is that much to read into RE Mitchell leaving) but seeing as it is a forum to discuss "football matters", the sacking of our Head of Recruitment would fall under that category. I'd be surprised if that - or plans for his successor - aren't brought up either organically by the panel, or through the Q+A.
Continue as we are and Blooms will be linked with a few more jobs this season. If he’s offered a new deal here we know he’s their man. If not I really hope he stays with us until the end of the season atleast as he’s building something special.
Was Mitchell really a good mate of his. I thought I heard Matt say he was someone he was aware of from his time and Ipswich but didn't really know him, as such, until time came for him to make an appointment in that role at Wycombe.

The account @Boosh proper n**** who cares if he has a wife or not.
Brilliant post.
Can any of you locals translate this?
I think it means cheerio.
Don’t feed the troll people.
Or probably BOG OFF in the Midlands
N**** = Ninny
Thanks @Blue_since_1990. Much appreciated.
Wow this thread has become really really boring
It could be Nonny , as in hey Nonny, Nonny
Do they still wear Doublet and Hose in Coventry.
twas the last time they were a big club methinks
What a dapper chap.
Ruud van Nistelrooij has applied for the Coventry job. Could kill off any interest they had in Bloomfield.
Nonny? He plays for Chelsea doesn't he?
Well, they do say that it’s only a matter of time before something comes back in to fashion perhaps in a few years we’ll all be wearing this.
Bloomfield drifted even further in the betting. Now out to 28/1. Panic time over. Well at least until the next time if we continue our fabulous form.
Sky are reporting Lampard in advanced discussions to take the job.

I agree @eric_plant and I suspect following the Mitchell incident he’ll be less confident in his own position.
He may have a great bond with the club, but that doesn’t necessarily extend to its current owners.

It'll be interesting to see Blooms' response to any questions about Scott Mitchell at the Fans Forum.

My guess is Blooms will want to ride the Wycombe wave for as long he can… until Ipswich come calling.
Leaving and failing somewhere else would be disastrous
I guess it depends on his ambition. Does he want to manage at the highest level? If he does, can he wait a couple of years for Wycombe to get there?

I think Matt is doing a brilliant job for us but I suspect it is still too early in his management career for the bigger teams to take a risk.
I believe Matt will be with us for a few more seasons at least.

I think Norwich might be attractive for Blooms should the job come up.
