  • MAKE THE BAD MEN GO AWAY

  • I’d be stunned if he leaves. He won’t

  • we are likely to be in a higher division than them next season anyway...would be flabbergasted if he left as I am sure he would want to see this project out

Hopefully Bloomfield doesn't go, but if he did would anyone like to have Ainsworth back?

  • In the very unlikely and extremely distressing event that he did go to Coventry, Mark Robins is available, amazing track record.

  • Not a chance that this would happen.

  • Four points cover ninth to twenty second in the championship! Who do Coventry think they are.

  • Agree, would also be stunned if he left. Matt has only just started on his journey at WWFC and the prospects are considerably different from those that GA could see when he left for QPR (after 10 years and having achieved all that he was likely to be able to achieve with us). Matt will also have seen what happened to Gareth and of course Mark Robins at Coventry (he had them in the play off 2 seasons ago and finished 9th last season) and hopefully will take "the better the devil you know" Potentially a test of the relationship between Matt and the new owners, particularly Dan. From what I have seen publicly it would seem good - Let's hope that is the case

  • got to take our wycombe hats off, would be a massive job to turn down if it is actually true

  • Not a chance. Bloomfield is wycombe.

  • Even if no other consideration, SAFE job at Wycombe, not so at Coventry. What's Ainsworth doing these days?

  • If all else fails Lommy could offer Matt more money or kidnap his kids. The classic carrot and stick approach beloved by all slightly dubious billionaires.

  • GA was leaving for every job once we were back in League one.

Now MB is leaving for every job.

I think Matt has a project and is presently safe to carry it out. If we got the the Championship, the owners might feel they need a change, but I cannot see it at the moment.

I hear Frank Lampard is a big mate of the Coventry owner...so...

Of course, I could be wrong.

  • Gareth and Matt are not even in the Skybet listed options for next manager.

My eye was drawn to Selles, would be the perfect time for him to leave with his head held high and the opportunity to bring in new players in January.

  • Don’t worry, we can just replace him with the Cowleys, as advocated less than a year ago by some of the parishioners on here.

  • Bloomfield is managing HIS club and has a genuine chance of finishing in the top 6. I can't see him jumping from that at the first opportunity for almost anyone.

  • Would be a mad time to leave. Not a special club for him, club in the duldrums, probably won't have the backing there.

If he left now it'd make the feeling when Gaz left after that Bolton victory, on a run of wins, x100 for a knockout blow.

  • Bloomfield now entered at 6/1, third favourite behind Lampard and Lee Carsley. Let's hope he wants a 'big name'

  • I mean, I'm loving with Bloomfield is doing and think he's fantastic, but it would be a silly appointment for Coventry. Hiring a manager who notably had a tricky first year, but has pulled it round with a good start to the season, to take over a Championship club is insane.

Then again, I'd suggest firing Robins was ridiculous in the first place.

As the late, great Jimmy Greaves used to say: “Football, it’s a funny old game Saint.”

Less than 48 hours after smashing five past Stockport and going top of the league, we now have to worry about Matt Bloomfield leaving us for another club.

I’ll be honest, I don’t like this feeling nearly as much.

  • Bloomfield now joint favourite with Lampard at 2/1. I know markets are a function of where the money is being gambled but that is hardly a good sign.

  • I really can’t see why Matt would go to Coventry City.

  • The Coventry forum are insistent we finished 16th last season, for some reason. Hopefully that is what their owner believes as well...

  • Surely we have to try get him on a newdeal, even if this is paper talk and nothing it. Tie him down hopefully ends this talk for every job that comes available or we get a healthy buyout fee

  • Bookies odds don’t mean anything until a candidate is 1/3 or lower. Any odds over are just guesses to try and drive up the market.

  • I'm hoping Steven Schumacher gets the job. We keep Bloomfield and he gets another crack at it after the mad sacking at Stoke.

  • Taking a step back, what a compliment to Blooms and to where we are. Obviously I am hoping he stays, but who would have seen Champo clubs in for him this time last year?
