However, his form for 2024 has been excellent, one of the best in League one if not the country which the league positions have hidden the progress that he has made. He tried a formation and method at the beginning of the 23/24 season which didn't work. Changed things around, learnt from his mistakes and has been excellent since. He also took on Col Utd when they were looking at relegation from the football league and took them to mid-table in that same season.
So it's unfair to say that he hasn't achieved anything. If anything, it proves how too short-sighted that the Coventry City (and maybe football) fans in general are being too unfair towards him. If there were managers that have proven track records of getting promoted etc why are they out of a job?

In answer to why good managers are out of a job, Mark Robins is out of one so clearly they are out there!
Anybody who accepted a level odds bet on Coventry to get relegated would have to be an idiot. You can currently widely get 33-1 apparently - which actually feels quite generous given possibility of a meltdown if the new manager turns toxic.
We are currently around 2-1 for promotion which implies even with bookie margins perhaps a 25% chance of promotion.
I would calculate that therefore chances of Wycombe and Coventry being in the same league next season as around 1 in 4.
Frankly I suspect the general normal level of interest in Coventry amongst Wycombe fans (and no doubt vice versa) is very low.
The press suggest that our manager may have been spoken to about Coventry job (I doubt he would have applied on spec. but may have been asked to submit an application). Personally I am not convinced that MB is the right fit for Coventry or Coventry the right fit for MB at this stage of his managerial career. But stranger things have happened I suppose. If he does get offered the role and chooses to leave, I would wish him well and may look out Coventry's results for a while but frankly I don't expect that to materialize.
I find this very confusing given we are top of the league approaching a third of the way through the season.
The odds on a Wycombe promotion are currently 11/5 so if you really believe that there is a next to zero chance we go up then there is an opportunity for you to make some money with a lay bet.
I have no interest in making money, just several posters seemed very confident that you will be in a higher league next season. If so, the charity bet is there.
Had a heart attack when I saw how many new posts there were on this thread. Turns out it’s a half baked wind up with replies from people who should know better.
On a more positive note, if Boosh really is a Coventry supporter and lives locally and now posts on the gasroom, he may come in useful in knocking a few miles of the Gasroom Diaspora total. Otherwise I think his contribution may have run it's course.

Over 46 games that equates to just under 90 points. In nearly any full season in League One we would be automatically promoted with 90 points. Robins managed 67 points from 34 games in 19/20, over 46 games that equates to just under 91 points.
Historically Coventry are without doubt a bigger club but it’s the future that Matt will be looking at and in the next 5-10 years I suspect we will develop as a club and Cat1 academy way beyond Coventry, unless of course Coventry find new owners and own their own ground.
In 10 full months as a Manager Matt has won 3 Manager of the Month awards.
He will get much better chances than Coventry this season at the rate managers get sacked.
Funny how the owner gave fans that inside information and yet Blooms' odds deteriorated, and none of the other attendees on their forum mentioned it, despite a dedicated thread.
I actually think Coventry is much more attractive than most - their expected points was 4th when Robins was sacked, so they are in a false position, and I think whoever comes in is going to look like a bit of a genius as he steers them to safety easily. They came back from 2-0 down away to Sunderland with an interim manager, and I think that is another indication that they are no mugs.

The rest of his posts have been stinking of arrogance too and there are folk on here giving him the time of day. I'd say my post was quite mild, moreover I have learned that his missus rules folk out on the basis of their misspelt expletives, I suspect that he is batting well above his average there.
