I saw a punk in Buckingham this morning and he looked straight out of 1977 tall Mohawk/Mohican, a leather jacket with the Anarchy symbol, DMs and tartan trousers , young guy as well, he looked amazing I couldn’t stop and get his story I’m off on my holidays.
very good, @glasshalfempty. From a bit of hasty research it seems like her regular vibe is a bit more shoegazey - but pared back, that was really nice. As close to Perry Come as you're likely to get?
I also liked the guy's (James Graham's?) vintage shirt - trying to work out if it was a very dark blue number like the 'dee, or black, which obviously only referees should ever wear.
@our_frank Glad you liked it. Can imagine there was a sense of trepidation knowing the stuff I usually listen to. It is a little different from her usual stuff. James Graham’s retro shirt looks black to me. I think he’s an Aberdeen fan.
Fair enough, Lingua Ignota is definitely not for everyone (once you read what that album is about, and listen to the lyrics it takes on a whole new level of bleak).
I’ve found out the hard way that if you really want to get people riled up give them your opinion about the Beatles post split so I won’t and I loved them both oh and George.

No story to be had. I went to Buckingham 4 years ago and it was 1973 so….
I’ve been enjoying Kaos on Netflix
Am I imagining it or did someone on here recommend Succession? Was it you @drcongo? Just finished it. What an epic series!
Succession best thing on telly for years, I think a few Gasroomers have recommended it over the last couple of years.
It has one of the same writers/creators as Peep Show
I've never watched Succession, one of those that I keep meaning to but never get round to, I really must.
Also keep seeing Kaos advertised, and it intrigued me enough to also give that a go one day
Stewart Lee's last show 'Basic Lee' is on YouTube until Sky do a copyright strike.
Well worth a watch as he's on peak form apart from the last 10 minutes.
Daniel Kitson is still the best stand-up in the UK despite what Lee says.
Kitson is in a class of his own, in my opinion
Anyone watching/watched Sherwood? Seems like it's going to be pretty epic, cast is a bit of a who's who.
Tim Sherwood seems an unlikely subject for a biopic.
What was the last ten minutes?
Jazz stuff.
My top five songwriters today,
1, Partridge
2, Lennon, Mcartney
3, Difford Tilbrook
4, Costello
5, Wilson.
@our_frank @peterparrotface
I’d be interested in hearing what you distinguished gentlemen think of this… https://youtu.be/V3Y-3sfRNcc?si=RY7_lQW_gSljERcw
I like this,I mean I really like it , I am trying to place the sound, give me a little time but yes it is excellent.
Glad to hear you really like it too.
Sorry I didn’t see that you were asking particular individuals ignore my comment.

@MorrisItal2 The more the merrier.

Really like that, not heard of her before - cheers for posting.
Are you by any chance a fan of Anna von Hausswolff? Quite dramatic and bleak - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nre0hcDz5TI
Or if you want intensely dramatic and bleak, then Lingua Ignota - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtfzJhDkioM
Cheers @MindlessDrugHoover I haven’t heard of either and will check them both out
Along vaguely the same sort of lines, I’ve enjoyed Chelsea Wolfe’s album from earlier this year.
Oh yes, Chelsea Wolfe gets a regular airing chez Drughoover. Emma Ruth Rundle and Myrkur too. I am an unabashed old goth at heart.
Anna von Hausswolff is interesting. I’ll need to get used to her cinematic voice. Lingua Ignota isn’t for me tbh.
Fantastic to see Chelsea Wolfe and Emma Ruth Rundle being name checked on the Gasroom.
Everything Turns Blue is awesome.

This live version of Darkhorse is beautiful.

If you’re a fan of the above I’d recommend AA Williams. Evaporate is a great place to start.

Maybe a more easily accessible Anna von Hausswolff track is this one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYPCpjyLDIs though it's 12 minutes long.
AA Williams is superb. Got her Hollow Heart album. Good shout.
You might like Alison Cotton - serious Nico vibes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvxHnz3LTNM - set to support Goat on tour soon.
I often have Chelsea Wolfe on when I’m working. I have just downloaded Lingua Ignota’s Caligula for a proper listen. Sounds very me.
Music doc recommendation - ZEF: The Story of Die Antwoord
@micra you should probably pass on this one.
I'll go
Like the way you put Lennon / McCartney together!
