His people will do a cringeworthy press release about him not understanding the song, about wanting to do better, about taking some time away from social media to reflect. Followed by him having photos with team mates hugging. He's a £100m player, they don't get scrapped they get rehabilitated and healed. See Mason Greenwood who social media posts about what a wonderful dad and partner he is now would have melted even the hardest heart. 🤬
James Richings has published an article about Graham Potter on the back page of today’s Bucks Free Press. The massive and somewhat misleading headline is “One-time Chairboy on being England manager”.
One delightfully incorrect paragraph refers to Potter’s success as the manager of a fourth tier (?) - mrs micra has nabbed the paper - Swedish club. He says they defeated Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates, having lost 3-0 to them in the first leg in Sweden, thereby giving Arsenal a 5-1 aggregate win. I make it 4-3.
Without access to the BFP I’ve paraphrased James’s actual words and there may have been ambiguity about who won at the Emirates.
You might want to check your maths there, young @micra.
A score of 4-3 needs seven goals to be scored. However only six were scored in total, three in each game. I might accept 4-2 as the correct aggregate score though.
Saw someone on fb the other week criticising the use of "affect" instead of "effect", but then using "your" instead of "you're" in their sneering post.
You very rarely see club shirts following England. I don't think I've ever seen one on a matchday. So when my mate claimed to have seen someone in a Wycombe shirt at the bar outside the Olympic Stadium I was dubious. But he was right! This fella apparently started following Wycombe's results having met @bluntphil in Mexico.
And as we were chatting another lady popped up and revealed she too was Wycombe fan and Gasroom lurker. Small world.

and there you have it...
"That video, that moments, those words, do not reflect my beliefs or my character."
Copy paste from just about every other similar incident. Except the classic Wayne Hennessey 'I didn't know what a Hilter salute was'

It's always sumptuous when someone corrects someone, only to utterly burgle it themselves 🤣
Oh deary me ! Me wot gets the numbers close or spot on on idol Colin Murray’s show.
Probably too simple (the sum, not me).
Can’t even plead sausage fingers.
Chuckled at that, @Malone. Feel I had the last laugh, though, as neither burglary nor b***ery came into it.

That was good. You'd have enjoyed that one.
I’m afraid I would !!🤣
@TheAndyGrahamFanClub used effect for affect or vice versa recently but I showed admirable restraint.
Chris will be on soon to say if more people use a version, even if it's actually incorrect, that it's actually OK.
That’s how language works
That’s why I’m called dried in the wool.
Don't start the 'you've got another thing coming' debate @micra.
People get really angry there
Yep, like Chris says we need to not get hepped up on this lingo difficultings and work to the general betterations of the language.
Spelling ting cirrectly? Nah not if everyone agrees you can spel how u like.
Reminds me of the dictionary episode of Blackadder II.
BLACKADDER III
Stanley Unwin was an absolute genius with his made up, yet on the face of perfectly cromulent lingo.
(That's not a Blackadder reference in the slightest, but is an extra comment to the general theme)
I agree wholeheartedly. @glasshalffull really started something there. With addition of “…with your every word”.
You, @Malone, sound like a natural exponent of Unwinese. He was so original. Absolutely brilliant.
Apologies. Of course 3
You sound like a man who thought a cat had done a whoopsie on his pie, then discovered it was an extra large blackberry!
Two comedy heroes. Probably not for the majority on here.

Contrafibularities? 'Tis a common word down our way
Superb
Belated Euro 24 post...
