League 1-2 squad registration rules can’t have helped his cause. 22 players that are over 21yo doesn’t leave much space for a very injury prone player to hold a spot.
Reading have been under embargoes and have a very young squad and have not been able to add any senior pros since the end of August. They do however have 39 U21's and goalkeepers which is bigger than the majority of League One full squads. They have some superb youngsters and should slowly rise up the table.
Exeter have added a number of players since the EFL squad lists were released in early September. They now have four additional players taking the total squad up to 30, still very small/average for League One but on par with our squad size.
Recent Bristol City thread is of the more or less unanimous opinion that Mehmeti is not good enough for them and will be gone in January.
Not to beat a dead horse, but he was brilliant as a raw 19 year old there. Hard to believe he is suddenly not good enough. I hope he does go, and to a club that needs and appreciates him. Maybe QPR on loan if GA works a miracle and survives!
It has become quite clear that he needs a loving manager to nurture his obvious talents. No criticism of Pearson just the wrong fit for Anis and maybe their recruitment guys should have done more personality work with him. When he was with us he had absolute freedom and he messed up on numerous occasions but was never lambasted for it, he learned and grew. I'm gonna guess that the CEO who went from us to them ran in the door at Ashton Gate and said WE HAVE TO SIGN THIS LAD HE'S BRILLIANT. And he is. Just still more of a work in progress than they knew. QPR would be a good fit because of Ainsworth and Dobbo but the chances of them being there at January are increasingly slim and they are still a bat sh1t crazy club at heart. I don't think for a minute he will come here (I also said there was no way on God's earth we could sign Freddie Potts so I am a reliable voice).
It would be fairly bizarre for Bristol City to ditch Mehmeti so soon after signing him. Pearson could be gone within 6 months.
If he does leave, I’d predict it could be to Plymouth. He’s torn them apart previously at their own ground. They need some succession planning for when (inevitably) Whittaker, Mumba or Azaz get moves. Geographically it’s fairly viable for a loan too.
Yes it shouldn't be forgotten that those first 6 - 8 or so weeks in the championship whilst novel and brilliant in one way, looked fairly hopeless and forlorn on the pitch.
That we came so close to staying up was such a brilliant achievement. With our main two signings, Taf and Uche missing half the season, with the hard luck stories, like Derby not only scoring late at our place, but the ludicrously wrong disallowed goal from Horgan in that same game.
@Malone very well put. If there was ever a true moral victory in relegation, that was it. I believe we had top six form over the last ten or so games, too!

I assumed that @Malone being an optimist
Alex Samuel hat-trick.
I am so glad Gape has found a club. Best of luck to him
Where's he gone?
Oh, Sutton. Quite a Wycombe old boys club forming down there!
Five former players and one out on loan

Isn't League Two just as restrictive?
Yeah League 1 and 2 have the same rules
Brilliant news. It was really sad to think of Dom without a club. Now start climbing that table!
Most Lg1 and Lg2 clubs don't use up the full 22 player allowance - surprisingly more in Lg2 than Lg1 but less than 1 in 3 overall.
Reading only have 13 and Exeter 14 out of interest
Well done to Mr Gape.
When fit he should be quite a stand out in league 2.

You could say that Sutton did their research and found a gape in the market
Ba-Dom, tish!
They had a gaping hole in their squad

I think a club like Norwich would be a better fit.
Didn't score many goals, but there was one which was quite special ...

I agree that Anis needs to be with a manager like GA, but I’m not sure a club fighting for its life in the Championship would be the best fit for him.
He did alright last time he played for one of those!
Our championship season hardly compares to the current situation at QPR does it?

We were actually fighting.
Although there was that time when you said we were not trying to win.

We weren't, we were sitting on a draw.
