At the very least, GA should make a loan move in Jan if he is getting no game time at all. They are looking like being at opposite ends of the table, so Bristol would not be concerned about him keeping QPR up.
Makes sense but really hope he doesn't have to wait 3 months for his next game, not wishing injury on anyone else but there's a lot of football to be played before then.
Was it just a question of the wrong club / wrong manager (he started to criticise him publicly quite quickly) or did he move six months too soon? Another half a season might have allowed him to have a dip in form etc and experience what that feels like whilst in the loving environment of GA/MB and Wycombe. A big price tag and a big expectation adds a new pressure.
He only played in 48 games out of a possible 158 in his last three seasons, excluding friendlies and BB games.
I'm not sure we will ever know the extent of injuries during the Ainsworth period but only playing in 30% of the games in a three year period tells it's own story. His prime years as well from 26-28.
It can’t help Gape’s cause that he has never played senior for another club except Wycombe (unless you count his substitute appearances for Southampton). Poor guy. Beyond disappointed for him.
I feel so bad for Gape. Such a loyal servant of the club, and obviously at the centre of such an iconic moment in the club's history, as well as being on the pitch at Wembley against Oxford. It all just seemed to unravel after his red against Brentford in the LC at the start of the Champo season.
It is sobering every time you see how quickly someone can (potentially) wash out of the game. Paris Cowan-Hall is another one whose career seemed to come to an end abruptly, around 30.
Still hoping Gape finds a club, but it must get harder the longer you sit on the sidelines, especially with a rough injury record.

Another great performance for Freeman again today apparently.
I'm glad we are playing well, and glad he is too, but I still miss the lad!
What does Mehmeti have to do to get some game time
Move back to AP on loan?

Ryan Allsop starts in goal for Hull City tonight with Matt Ingram dropping down to the bench
Luke O’Nien appears to be the Sunderland captain now. Fair play to the lad.
Anyone know what Gape and Willis are up to?
well done Luke
It would seem very little in terms of playing.
They are both 29 but it would seem bad injuries and very few appearances over the last 3 years have curtailed any interest.
Hopefully they both pick up a club soon.
Did Gape have a bad injury? I thought it was a series of more minor ones?

Yeah, certainly a poor injury record whatever the specifics

It still staggering that there is not a single club in tiers 3-5 that wouldn't want him. Unless he is injured now.
I think that goes for Willis too. Very surprising.
I would imagine if both are fit they’d surely both secure league 2 football as a minimum. I still think Willis could sign for a league 1 side.
Similar with Uche really, if you weren't fit, haven't played much, and then didn't do a full pre-season you can get on the outside pretty quickly.
Senior mental block. Willis?
Ah, is he the central defender who played two or three games for us following a couple of injury-blighted seasons ? Formerly at Soonderlund.
Yep, came in to boost our numbers, but don't think he actually ever managed 90mins for us in a period where Taf and Forino missed loads of games.
Yet for some reason it surprised a few that he didn't get a contract here.

Hariman and that guy from QPR are two others.
Hogan Ephraim? He seemed totally disinterested from the moment he got here.
Desperate news for Scott Kashket who suffered a ruptured cruciate knee ligament whilst playing for Sutton United in midweek.
How awful for him! That sounds like a season on the sidelines, poor lad.
Ahhh Christ when will he get a break (no pun intended)? Such a lovely guy and deserves so much better.
Hadn't heard that, dreadful news.
By far the Wycombe old boy I'd like to see succeed the most.
That’s absolutely dreadful news and poses a threat to him ever playing in the football league again. Absolutely gutting.
