Because that's what frequently happens in these situations. At the very least, he's probably 'had his head turned'. Clubs leave players out for that reason all the time.
It doesn't stop them, because regardless of a contract, players (and their agents) retain the vast majority of the power. Does @glasshalffull honestly think Matheus Nunes will receive any punishment for going on strike?
If Taylor isn't out for long and Blooms has faith in him (and TJay to some level it), and if there are transfers lined up or other free agents available it lessens it a bit but if any or all of that doesn't come together we are in a pickle.
Calm down Rumpole. It was a throw away speculation which is the cornerstone for message boards across the world. It's gonna be a very quiet Gasroom if all we are allowed to speak about is facts that the club tells us. In fact it will be mainly centred around cheese or crisps.
But that’s different to someone refusing to play. He might well have ‘had his head turned’ and perhaps that’s why he was left out, but you are still guessing.
I agree and I don't think we can get any more loan players in as I think we can have a max of 6 in a season and only 5 of those can be named in a matchday squad. These new players will need to be permanent transfers.
If you see nothing wrong in suspecting that one of our players has refused to play based purely on a hunch that’s up to you. Social media can be a conduit for baseless speculation which then morphs into fact and my personal view is that it’s dangerous.
As he said 'I suspect' I find it ok to ignore. I don't agree with a lot of things people say. If he had stated it as fact I would be interested in his source. As he made it clear it was his suspicion I don't really care. In series 3 of Welcome to Wrexham all will become clear.
We seem to be making the assumption that the (alleged 6 figure) fee will be spent on replacements, rather than be trousered by the owners to offset some of their outlay.....
It's being widely reported on a number of websites, @glasshalffull, that Hanlan has agreed personal terms with Wrexham - BFP, football league world, goal.com.
It's therefore perfectly within reason that, as supports of the club he's contracted to, we speculate as to exactly what's going on.
Or are you seriously suggesting that this forum is the source of information for those online reports?
Indeed. The laughable suggestion that it’s all social media that causes speculation is idiotic.
Sure, it means that one persons comment is available for people to go look for it, but if you’re giving it any more credit than that overheard comment down the pub after a few pints, the problem is you rather than social media.

Harry Kane, Moises Caicedo, Wesley Fofana - just a few recent examples that come to mind

Maybe but I think Wrexham told him they could get him Paul Rudd, the star of Antman,'s autograph.
Probably not, because it's worked 😂

More likely he may have handed in a transfer request. That’s not necessarily refusing to play
As football fans we are no longer entitled to know. Not an exclusive to Wycombe. It began when fans became customers.
Good luck to him, it all sounds very exciting possibly getting a chance to play for a club looking to push up the leagues at pace.
He might not have been in the area? He could have been travelling / staying in or around Wrexham to finalise this move?

If only Hanlan hadn't onion bagged for us this season, we'd have an utterly sumptious stat of
Mullin Goals last season alone - 47
Hanlan career goals - 47
But alas, the goal this season bumps Hanlan up to ...48.
It was reported that if Nunes stays at Wolves (admittedly highly unlikely) he would be subject to sanctions from the club.
You're only allowed 5 in the matchday squad, but I don't think there's any limit on how many you can have overall.

I'm glad someone can read
Are we owned by the Glazers now?
I’m glad someone can understand baseless speculation.
Keep away from the transfer rumour thread, it's full of that sh1t.
I'm sure that would have had him shaking in his boots!

There is quite clearly something going on but that doesn’t mean that Hanlan is guilty of refusing to play.
Before social media fans would have been speculating down the pub over a few beers.

I saw a well known wycombe reporter pop up on a wycombe fb group post about travellers asking if he could use the photo.
So I wouldn't put it past some of these "reporters" to be doing just that.
"Our source believes Hanlan refused to play last night forcing Wycombes hand.
With one insider saying Wycombe manager MB was asolutely furious"
Etc etc
If they ever say "one source used several puns before giving an off-topic opinion" we will know they are quoting us for sure!
