Some seriously bizarre stuff coming up in the Mendy rape trial, including the allegation that he claimed to have slept with 10,000 women.
Given he is 28 & lets be generous and say he bacame sexually active at 15 then that works out at roughly 15 women a week, every week since. How on earth did he find time to be a pro footballer? and how good would he have been if he had channeled all that energy into training & playing?
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has blocked English goalkeeper Tom Heaton, 37, from moving to Luton Town, amid continued uncertainty over the future of Spanish keeper David de Gea, (BBC)
They're brilliant at developing young players... to a point. While they're in the academy system, brilliant. But something about the first team kills their potential which is why the best youth products thrive by leaving early (see: De Bruyne, Aké, Lukaku before he got full of himself)
They just don't pick them, have always had lots of £ and favoured new signings over using the talented internationals in their youth team.
Not very sustainable but that didn't really matter under Abromovich. Not sure the new guy has a single clue what he's doing, lots of prospects being signed but again probably not for the first team.
Not sure, They have some odd seemingly undeclared partnerships with other clubs so they can get their best prospects into first divisions in Europe. Also enables the players to develop to a level where they can be resold.
James Trafford - who made his pro debut against us for Accrington two years ago - set to join Burnley for £14m from Man City. Feeling quite smug as I tipped him for the top from the moment I saw him 😊
Not sure if anyone’s following the Gold Cup, but it’s worth a look. Qatar absolutely Ainsworthed Mexico yesterday to make it through the group, and non-FIFA Guadalupe only need a point from their last game to get into the second round.
It's interesting looking at some of the squads in the Gold Cup. Cuba have a lad playing in Gibraltar. St Kitts have a certain Andre Burley in their squad. Though he had a pretty tough tournament.
No doubt all linked to WC cash for votes and Qatar investing in grass roots CONCACAF countries.
As an invited team they have taken a spot away from a member country. The “investing” must have been significant for the members to have voted this through again. Qatar featured in the 2021 Gold Cup too.
Its no coincidence that prize money has increased 7 fold since Qatars miraculous qualification.
For.people who love the game it is sad that that having struggled with the PL more multi-millionaire ex-players would not take a job like FGR and give it a go at the lower levels.

wtf? Why wouldn't they be allowed to have Paramount+?
Because it is a competitor to companies that pay a lot of money for league broadcasting and image rights.
If Coke spent a lot of money on a TV advert they wouldn't want an actor wearing an "I love Pepsi" tee shirt.
Sky Bet sponsors the football league and plenty of clubs have other betting companies on the front. What's the difference?
Quite a lot in the opinion of the Premier League who have the ultimate say.
Zero's on the end of the rights costs.

He scores, he shoots.

It's deja vu all over again.
This is perfectly logical.
But stopping a kid you'd agreed to ship to league 1, a kid who was never going to get near the pitch for utd, that was baffling.
Ten Haag's face is on the dartboard in the lounge of the Goalkeepers' Union building.
Chelsea sign another player on an eight-year deal. Nothing to see here, lads...

If they still loan out dozens of youngsters (and not so youngsters) we might wind up with a couple ?

Al-Nassr have bid for Andre Onana now - this Saudi nonsense has gone beyond ridiculous.

Is Burnley regarded as the top these days?
Top flight innit
I think they've just signed Orient's GK too
Or is it Man City using an old boy to engineer a bit of "legit" income?

What are Qatar doing in the Gold Cup? (Rhetorical question)
