The high priced lawyers acting for City have, so far, managed to block and frustrate any investigation into the alleged 115 breaches of the FFP rules, going back to 2009.
The PL must now grow a pair, and proceed with an independent enquiry into the allegations. If Man City are found to have committed serious breaches, they should be given a massive points deduction and fine, which would see them descend into the Championship or lower.
We had a comparable situation in Rugby, when Saracens were found to have exceeded the salary cap for three seasons. They were given the option of a 105-point deduction, or opening their books for public scrutiny. They chose the former, spent a season in the Championship, and came straight back up. In the first season back, they came top of the Premiership, and won the playoff final, with a side featuring seven current England internationals, one Welsh and one Scottish - far more than any other club. It remains a mystery as to how such a squad can be within the salary cap.
All of this goes to prove the old adage that money talks, and bullshit walks.
Sounds like there were more than one or two safety issues last night. How about hosting these finals at venues equipped to do so? Not that that would have solved last year's problems, but the Ataturk clearly isn't fit to hold a game of such magnitude.
It seems to me that when awarding these major finals too much weight is given to the political pitch & not enough to the technical requirements. The latter surely must include things like, how close is it to where fans will arrive & stay, what mass transit systems are there to get fans to & from the ground, police/security experience & capabilities etc. etc.
@ReturnToSenda indeed they are not, but that has to be down to the medical staff overruling the coaches/management in the long term interests of their patient
FFS Wigan in the brown sticky stuff again as HMRC issue a winding up petition - hearing date 26th July - it was only last week the EFL put them under a transfer emargo to add to the 8 point deduction they received for failing to pay wages on time.
One of the great things as a true Wycombe supporter atm Is that every little cunt at school who supported Manu is in pain that will never stop. And it will never stop.
Really, Man United were always destined for pain as soon as they reneged on Nathan Bishop. They were lucky too - they really should have to see Man City win the quadruple as a trophy for every match we were without a L1 goalkeeper.
Then again, I hate Man City, so really the punishment should just have been Old Trafford filling up with blue plastic mysteriously overnight.
He's probably the nearest character we have to Gazza.
Bit less japery, but certainly daft as a brush and hard to dislike, outside of the spending more time on the floor than upright, although he is fouled a lot.
I worry less about these people while they are playing as they are kept in check (largely) by having to perform day in and day out by demanding managers. Makes you wonder how he will navigate getting lashed up and crashing his car once he is out of the game.

The team owned by Arabs beat the team owned by the Chinese.
It's a dream come true.
'City's lawyers turn to acknowledge the applause as they receive the cup...'
'Manchester United hypocrites cry into their beer'

On the pitch play great football to watch to an incredibly high standard. Very possibly the best ever club side.
Off the field they may or may not be technically just on the right side or just on the wrong side of the regs. Whatever.
for me just enjoy the on field show.

This also needs to stop. They're not machines. https://twitter.com/TelegraphDucker/status/1667852931855523841?t=LswFuDVMbJfpFqDioUONIQ&s=19

Surely the other way around? Management overruling medical staff? I can't see how playing for two months with a torn hamstring does any good.
I meant that it is the medics job to say no
One of your worst ever posts, and that's saying something.
Yeah - crazy to be allowed to play with a hamstring tear, which then progresses to a full rupture needing surgery.
First they came for Man City, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Man City fan.....
So will Adu Dhabi now taunt Saudi Arabia with chants of "We own football, you only own golf."?
This is sensational https://twitter.com/Millar_Colin/status/1667991690408280064?t=c0ooVoBCZVvDI9oCetqubQ&s=19
Young blokes might but the whole insanity of Sunni-Shia will keep the Middle East busy until the sun explodes.

Unlucky lads!

Have the Saudis bought Man U yet?
How on earth is Jack Grealish still standing? His blood must be at least 50% alcohol by now. https://twitter.com/HunterGodson/status/1668942117979271169?t=0ARRkR6NG9VIyHhSeN8lpg&s=19
Sad news, John Hollins has passed away aged 76 - a true gent with a smile that lit up a room

There's a kind of attitude that makes you a 'baller'
You either get it, or you don't.
When he's singing the same songs at 32, bankrupt, post career, alone on a street corner, it might not feel quite as hilarious.
He must be your absolute idol.
Decent player. Supports his local club, aye.
