Hard to evaluate how much of the wages the loan clubs are covering with each player. Think we have to give the club a chance it’s only June. Loads of staff likely to be on holiday after an incredibly busy 18 months.
Whilst it’s far from my intention to project my own views onto a fanbase that can rarely agree about anything, I really don’t recall people being that upset when he left.
He did OK at Bromley, but in the games I saw him play for us, I honestly wasn’t that impressed.
That doesn’t make him a bad player, perhaps we simply weren’t playing him in his favoured position.
I remember him looking way out of his depth for example when we were pumping long balls to him - and that’s OK, Ikpeazu had the same issue but was certainly a talented player.
If he’s more of a ball-to-feet player, that’s really not what we asked of our striker under GA.
Sometimes it just doesn’t work out for a given player at a given club, which is just a fact of football life. Now if only we’d signed that Dave Tarpey...
I'll reserve my AAH2 ire until Christmas. If he's still banging them in at the same rate for Wimbledon or another team I will questioning who decided to let him go when we had such an impotent strike force at the time. I will be even more p1ssed if Hanlan is still delivering the same stats as last year on the goals and assist front.
Nobody wants to join a League one Dev squad now, they want to be told they'll play somewhere next season or stay in an academy higher up. We always do first team business late, Dev signings likely to be even later.
Pre-season gives the opportunity for young hopefuls to train with us, and seems likely we'll need to play some to play in the friendlies.
It must be seen as a slight gamble though. We can't just sign players for the sake of having a 2nd team. They need to have a genuine chance. Otherwise it's eating into our first XI budget.
If we need 6-10 B Team players, are they going to be eating into the wage bill for potential first team targets, only to be released and never heard of again. Or are we all hoping for Mehmeti v2.0?
A first team left back a necessity. Preferably one who can play in a back four and as a left wing back, to give us the flexibility.
With JJ and young Luca Woodhouse in reserve I don’t think we need two left-backs.
Steve Seddon’s going nowhere at Oxford, he’d do. Was in the six figure bracket when he left Birmingham City for the PNL a couple of years back but his career stalled under Karl Robinson. Lovely left foot and a local lad to boot.
Its a bit overdramatic don't you think as bare minimum? Vokesy, Max, Josh, Grimmer will likely all start, you'd hope at least one of Fornino/Taff, and probably GMac. JMac and Hanlan will be at least squad players, hopefully one or two of the youngsters step up, maybe Pattenden. The squad could def do with a boost but by going for that many you just dilute what is already probably a thin wage bill. We might need to find the odd utlity player and soe prospects.
If we dd get 9 first team ready players we'd have some bench and a few reasonably established and well paid players sitting around not doing vey much.

Referring to De Barr and Mehmeti in the same context is scandalous !
Is it a real fanzine title for the cod army or have I imagined it?….. ‘There’s only one F in Fleetwood’

I think it was mentioned in a recent interview that we have signed an American player for our development squad but it hasn’t been announced yet.
It could be that there are a host of development players lined up to join.
Forino didn't come straight in did he? He was a development player who burst through.
So if you're going to try and take away one of the key successes in Forino, then yes it'll look less impressive.
Mehmeti going for 1m, Forino becoming a regular, Al Hamadi and De Barr so far, surely makes it a decent output.
If we could get a couple of players to become squad regulars every year we'll be laughing.
The fan base have let the club off lightly re the AAH2 departure. The lad clearly had something and we let it slip through our fingers, strange.

Have they? I feel like there are some fans who mention him every chance they get!
We probably paid him peanuts for a year or so and could get a very lucky sell on fee. Not sure there were too many campaigning for him to start.

My question was......what is happening with the B squad now? 2 players.

Could be one for us. We've got to be due one or two from them surely.
More worried about the first team to be honest.
I've no doubt we'll add a load of development guys late window.
I'm hoping that too - much as QPR fans can be annoying, it would be nice to have a decent relationship with the club (again) for loans.
We’ll sign half a dozen or so before the end of august.

That's my point @Malone

Hard to say isn't it. No idea if these development players are on absolute buttons or not.
Someone said what's the odds on this "development" squad, as opposed to just recruiting promising premier league casts offs.
But wages is probably the huge difference isn't it?
I'd say we *need* at least 9 first-team signings - and that's the bare minimum imo.
We've lost 4 players in that central / attacking mid area, so a couple of quality players in there would seem the most important area to address.
A left back is critical, but you wonder if we'll try and skimp by with just 1 centre back, with JJ and Grimmer able to step in? Probably too risky.
I will be severely hacked off if we only sign one capable centre half given Tafa & Forino injury records.
We need 2 x LB's now
I agree, but one is an absolute must
Surely JJ will be on too high a wage just to have as some 3rd choice left back and real back up centre back?
Can't see us signing 2 left backs? One this season, one in the summer coming.
Wow, I didn't think this would be such a controversial take. Gasroom gonna Gasroom.
I agree. I think we’ll go into the season with one new left (wing) back option. JJ as cover. Like you say, JJ won’t be on some tea-boy wage.
JJ at LB scares me, but I agree we're unlikely to add two there.
