I thought we would keep him for his Swiss Army Knife capabilities, but David Wheeler struggling to get much more of a look-in than Jason McCarthy currently, I am more and more expecting him to be on the move. We tend to try and "do right" by players, and it just does not seem like there is much of a place for him currently. He has a lot left in the tank to give for someone.
GA should be all over that if so. Jokes about constantly signing ex-players aside, Wheels could plug so many gaps depending on the need of the day there.
I think GA will be desperate to get David Wheeler in. He’s a great character, intelligent and still a highly capable player. His weakness is that he can play in too many positions daft that it sounds. Matt can’t accommodate him as we have a favourite system and it does not include him.
Also edging to the door must be Taff, Hanlan and Butcher. All I think are fit but not in match day squads. Add Bishop to the list and there’s gaps in the squad again
I believe Shrewsbury are in the process of a takeover so I wonder if GA is hoping for that to be fixed soon so that he might have some budget to work with?
Taff’s situation will depend on what happens with Low and Taylor. It can’t be any good for him spending the best years of his career hardly playing. And he must be one of our highest earners.
There’s a lot of football to come, so I’d be reluctant to see Wheels and/or Butcher leave although I understand why they might.
I don’t believe Taff is injured. I think Hartridge being on the bench over him is more the case of he can fill in 2 positions (left back, centre back) whereas Taff can only do the one. When Pattendon was starting it was Grimmer on the bench again can play in 2 positions if required. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Taff starting Saturday if Taylor is recalled by then.
I always assumed that Low was still in contract for Bristol City when he signed for us, too, which might also mean they get a chunk of any profit. Can any transfer aficionados advise whether he was still in contract to City at that point?
The interviews with Caleb and Blooms were filmed after the game yesterday so hopefully we have known this was coming and are already close to recruiting his replacement.

I’ve always been too quick!
Relax, son, like the big man sang, we gots all the time in the world.
If he does go...Morley will be back at Wycombe at some point...it's the law. 🙂
Next season as an opponent?
No no no, positive hat back on. First win this game, second get Morley.
Any word on Bishop? Got to assume he's heading back to Sunderland.
Has to be.
A really curious affair all round.

I’m sure Hanlan’s not fit - he was clattered late in the tinpot trophy and hasn’t appeared since…
He missed the next game but Bloomfield has since been quoted as saying he is fit.
Ta - missed that… 👍

Taf is 33 now so not sure even his biggest fan could argue he's in his best years.
It would be interesting to know if he's fallen down the pecking order currently or is simply injured again.
He got injured falling down the pecking order
I had no idea he was over 30. Well, then what a shame he’s spent so many of his best years injured. There’s a great player in there.
He went off injured after about thirty minutes of his last appearance didn’t he?

The years definitely creep up don't they.
Vokes is 35 now for instance. Hard to see him playing on next season. Just hope he gets properly fit and contributes a few cameos.
Wheeler is 34 which is one that really surprised me too!
I firmly believe there is little point keeping Tafazolli, Wheeler and Vokes now despite their wonderful service to this club.
There is also potentially an argument that Hartridge, Butcher and Hanlan are also surplus to requirements depending on how this transfer window goes.
Swansea manager talking up Joe Low to BBC Wales. I don't think they're going away on this one.
😂we have glass baubles on our 🎄less fragile!
Isn't Luke Williams about to go to West Brom? Would Low want to sign for a new manager at Swansea?
Or would he end up at West Brom instead...?
Massive fee or go away please Swansea.
If he was 24 and out of contract in the summer it might make it harder to resist, but he's not, so no cheap tribunal fee.

Transfer listed and "undisclosed" fee job

Caleb has returned to West Brom. Good luck to the lad, I hope he gets his chance in their first team.
Just seen this. Oh dear. Huge loss for us,
Expected. Excited to see who comes in.
