Rumour on very trustworthy site known as Twitter (doubt anyone will have heard of it), saying QPR are interested in Fred on loan. I actually think this ex-player makes the most sense for GA, together with Lewis Wing.
Then again, the rumour origin appears to be 'Ben', so make of that what you will. He couldn't even be bothered to start a TransferRumours532983028 account.
It is a bit concerning that we only appointed a new head of recruitment this week. It begs the question how much was going in the background on the transfer front during the first 4 weeks or so of the off-season. How long were we without one?
It's still hard to say what the expectation for next season really is. It's certainly the lowest it's been at this level since 2018. At the moment, I'd take staying out of trouble.
For some reason Gills fans think they're signing Alfie May.
Start of summer 2019 we were incredibly light on players. I think around 6 turned up for the first day of training. The only reason Josh Parker signed was because he went to the same gym as El-Abd and we needed bodies
From memory weren’t we quick off the mark the post-Torquay season? I seem to remember that we had all those key signings in place well before the summer solstice.
Admittedly recovering from the survival celebrations/relief meant that I may have lost a month or two…

Yes that's him. Name escaped me.
You make it sound as if they’re a bit ashamed!!
mrs micra wonders if he’s from around there, as she is.
Dundalk to Galway (Daryl’s home town/city) is around 150 miles. So wouldn’t be emulating his replacement (?) at Stevenage.
NICK FREEMAN.
Yes U21s had a great season and U18s not bad either
Aidomo Emakhu, Romain Esse, Nana Boateng - Esse probably hoping for first team action though, plays for England U18s
I know I posted this last year but I’ve kept a close eye on Amari Miller at Leeds, who I’m very surprised didn’t head out on loan last season.

He loves to run at defenders and isn’t afraid to whip it into the box first time, which is something we lack.
Michael Harriman?
Yves Ma-Kalamabay?
All they need to do is promise GP appointments same day and a sensible A&E waiting time target. Next GE is political equivalent of an open goal.

Les Ferdinand leaving QPR . Wonder where this might leave Ainsworth. New director of football may want his own man.
Can a director of football sack as he pleases? Surely it's the owners that have the ultimate say?
Alfie May to Charlton.
Can't wait for the "lack of signings" brigade to start shouting.....
Oxford are doing some good business... my work colleague and friend tells me every season they'll go up, he might be right this time!

@ReturnToSenda have you seen his interview with Mr Cecil?
I thought he was appointed weeks ago ? But this was just the first interview
Just checked, actually it was only 2 weeks ago, seemed longer than that
I think the head of recruitment not being in place before June has cost us the play-offs. (Too early?)
Only the shortened version - I don't think I have a WTV subscription!
Playoffs?
We need to get back to winning 2 games in a row first!

While we've still got the key players from last season, the last 3months of the season certainly don't scream competing for playoffs.
We'll see what sort of signings we make.
See if there's many that sound like starters, or whether it's more young development types.
Yes - apologies.
I feel like it was the case in 2018, too - I think people like Randell Williams and Fred came in on loan quite late?
Wait, no, we had Randell in the second half of the L2 promo season and he came back.
Our entire history, I think
Has anyone ever posted that our recruitment has been excellent and I have a good feeling about the season ahead? It must have been before my time.
