Didn’t know that @Malone. Big benefit of doubt needed otherwise. Sad, because he’s a lovely lad (getting a bit too long in the tooth for lad, perhaps, but still looks about 18!) and, going back a couple of seasons, had matured into a thoroughly dependable terrier of a midfielder.
As good as Stocko was to have around the place in general, and his distribution was pretty good - I NEVER felt 100% comfortable with him in goal. I think Max is more "reliable" and consistent than Stockdale was. Not to say I didn't rate Stocko, but there is a reason that he was secondary to Allsop for a long spell, and been in and out of the Sheff Wed team. He lacked consistency and concentration.
I heard/read somewhere that McCleary had a damaged/broken (same difference?!) metatarsal. Living on crutches currently, I believe.
Is it really a year since our two hour chat over one coffee (each, no straws!) in the Pantry? Your insight then into Anthony Stewart’s inclinations, contract-wise, was very interesting. DM me if you’d like to make that an annual event but put nothing in your diary for 2024 !!
I’ve been brave and looked back on Friday’s goals. The first a near post header after Tafazolli had fallen asleep and lost his man; the second a shot which somehow went straight through both central defenders; the third after two men left completely unmarked in left back slot. Bloomfield may talk about how good Ipswich are. They didn’t have to play well. Those three goals gifted by Wycombe. You couldn’t dream of us conceding goals like that under Ainsworth
We were very ropey defensively on Friday, no doubt about that. We were letting in loads of soft goals earlier this season though under Ainsworth! Remember our complete inability to defend from corners! We were conceding almost every week with corners to the far post, leaving a man unmarked.
I’ve not done many away days since covid, but I thought the catering was pretty decent at Portman Road. Less than a fiver for a decent range of pies was not bad at all.
I was shocked in the early days of this season that a defence with Taff and Mawson in it seemed to be so porous. I know there is talk of Bloomfield not 'setting us up defensively' but I would have expected Taff's, Forino, JJ, grimmer, and McCarthy to have an idea how to defend a corner nonetheless!
Were they on special offer? They were £5 and change on the board. That said my bill for two pies, a Mars bar, crisps, water and a bovril was under £14 so maybe the staff felt we deserved something as we were getting sweet fa on the pitch.
The goals we conceded in the home defeats to Shrewsbury and Cambridge (the two results that are really keep us out of the playoffs right now) were as soft as butter.

If we miss out, I'll definitely be hoping for Bolton to win the playoffs. Brilliant club, brilliant fans.
Gape has another year as it stands.

The Stockdale v Max debate is which one of two very good ‘keepers is the best keeper. What a lucky club we’ve been in that position of late.
Well said @TheAndyGrahamFanClub

Excellent choice of coffee shop
I would imagine that Thompsons' contract negotiations would include caveats on his injuries?

Vokes key to us defending corners as well as holding the ball at the other end
We let a fair few soft goals in under Ainsworth. Remember this season conceding a number of goals from set pieces.

No, not all for me.
We had a couple of plant based ones which were cheaper I think, so it came in at under £20 for 4.

We're entering Super Fight territory here.
I guess you didn’t watch us in the FA cup this season? That defending was utterly pathetic and a lot worse than against Ipswich.
