I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say I'll be boycotting MOTD until Lineker is back. Utterly pathetic stuff from the Beeb, but also quite scary.
Give up whatever time you can spare, canvas for whatever party is best placed in your constituency to beat the Tory candidate whether or not they are your favoured party and throw these appalling people out on their ear.
Not sure I've ever agreed with you more, just have a look for a second at the political connections and spouting of some of the other people employed there or at the people installed to run the organisation and you can see what rubbish this is.
Pity poverty and the cost of living crisis doesn't get the old goats as angry and animated as the tweets of a presenter of a programme they don't watch.
I don't remember calls at the highest level for Clarkson to be sacked...though the Daily Mail were screeching like banshees at the idea ITV or Amazon might.
The BBC have announced that MOTD will run without anyone in the studio (presenter & summarisers) after Lineker was asked to step aside & Shearer, Wright, Jenas, Richards & Scott all very publicly refused to appear

Ainsworth set to be new Bond. Who do you want as manager?
What other vegetable would you want to produce/direct a movie?
Julienne Carrotts?
She does a fine cut.
I always thought Sean Bean would be good. Always has runners on set.
That's a half-baked notion
The BBC continuing to have an absolutely normal one, I see.
Good man

Totally agree. Awful in every aspect. A scary world we live in now

Shearer's out now too
Much shorter statement than Wrightys, might be more toxic brand related than solidarity but all good.
David Icke, Matt Le Tissier and Right said Fred apparently favourites to host.

They’ve pulled an episode from the latest Attenborough series too so it doesn’t offend the tin eared nutters.

I never dreampt that I would be wanting to make this absolutely clear on a Not Football thread but I will not be presenting Match of the Day tomorrow.
I’d be more enthusiastic about this if two Labour shadow ministers hadn’t criticised Lineker in the last couple of days.
Well said. Depressing awful disgraceful scenes.
as Ted Hastings would have said "Jesus, Mary & Joseph & the wee donkey" what has the BBC come to?
Lawro waiting by phone. Who agrees to present will be one of the most interesting things about the studio part of the show for a long time!
I can see protests and violence across the leagues on Saturday unfortunately

Danny Murphy the only regular to have been silent so far. Seems like the most likely to be a scab.
I think it might be Nicolas Witchell, joined by John Cleese, Peter Shilton and Neil Oliver.
Even Shilton is backing Lineker

It’s being reported that the commentators may also be pulling out.
It’ll be like the early days of ifollow!
Bit boring but just listened to the totally football podcast. It's so good
Steve Wilson has confirmed this.
