Has he? He’s scored once in roughly 100 games. He’s can’t have assisted much more than 10. Probably not even that. He’s had a load of minutes and been played in multiple roles and systems. He’s had more than enough opportunities to show his ability. He’s good in the press out of possession and I draw the line there. Harshly treated? Not a chance.
By our fans, yes, although he's far from the only one in this era of all or nothing. He wasn't the right fit - we probably should have realised that earlier and cut out losses - but calling him the worst player we've ever had or whatever other nonsense (not you, but I've seen it said) is ludicrous.
Saw a clip somewhere earlier today of him scoring for us against Northampton. Only the tinpot trophy but an impressive piece of play, including a good finish. Don’t think we saw/have seen anything like his potential due to injuries and limited minutes.
Quite nostalgic also to see Jack Young, Ali Al-Hamadi, Daryl Horgan and Jasper Pattenden in the same clip. Not to mention NICK FREEMAN.
“Alan Massey, Ryan Upward and Shawn McCoulsky came on for Reece Smith, Ashley Nathaniel-George and Adam Leathers; the latter of which performed well on his debut for the club.”
Good to see Leathers both starting and hitting the ground running yesterday, despite getting subbed halfway through the second half.
Useful opportunity for him and Wycombe. Huge competition for the midfield positions currently but may not necessarily be the same next season. If he can show up well down at York Road for the rest of the season then he may come into the first team picture next term.
Thanks frequentstander, good to read that. Ward is definitely one to watch.
Hopefully he’ll help Hungerford avoid relegation.
Gareth is at York Road tonight apparently. Maybe checking in on Adam Leathers but maybe also looking at some of the Magpies decent youngsters like Reece Smith and Emile Acquah.
@micra oh yes one of ours, as it says a Rolls Royce of a player, discovered way way down the pyramid. Had some heart issues as a youth otherwise would have been at an elite academy. Has actually made one first team sub appearance already. Very much one to watch.
Well played Christie indeed. Looks and sounds the part and still only 18 (or possibly just turned 19). Quite tall (going by the picture with GA and Sam Grace when he signed back in July) and clearly loads of potential as a goalscoring midfielder.
Not at all annoying. He's a professional footballer with a young family that he needs to support, who was given truly horrific treatment up in Scotland, and a move to somewhere that he can get paid and be near his family is extremely good for him.
Absolutely. Remember the first thing Gaz did when he became manager? Recalled Josh S from loan. This promises to offer the same. Christie is ‘different gravy’.
But what is worrying is, as a mid field player, does this mean Josh has a serious injury?
Christie is a very different player though more Wing than Scowen.

As in he has a reserved space on the bench ?
Not sure what's more confusing. Where your missing "y" is.
Or how on earth we'd pay more of Horgan's salary if he plays?!

My friend @perfidious_albion said “ever week “.
Also, I'm not sure being an international counts for much when you're playing for Ireland at possibly their weakest ever.
Oddly I read his post a few times, and must have just auto-corrected that when trying to work out the post.
Sorry, we’ve turned the bloody page ! He actually said “ever appearance week”. But I worked out what he meant. Does seem a strange arrangement.
Yes
Then it sounds very unlikely.
Sounds the sort of thing a premier league club with a promising youngster would put in, to ensure they're playing enough.
Would be very strange to put in for a player who is 95% likely to be released.
Unless we were looking to get some of our ongoing outlay back on an expensive salary within the squad. But who knows?
Mellor out on loan for the rest of the season to Rochdale
Adam Leathers loan at Hampton & Richmond has come to an end.
Dam (this will make sense if you know much about Hampton & Richmond)
Mellor MOTM for Rochdale

Christie Ward. One to watch very closely.
Is he one of ours ?

MOTM performance from Christie Ward as well.

Rock on !
I know not one of ours anymore and sorry if its posted elsewhere in another thread but how annoying is it that Anthony Stewart has gone on loan to MK
Not at all annoying. He's a professional footballer with a young family that he needs to support, who was given truly horrific treatment up in Scotland, and a move to somewhere that he can get paid and be near his family is extremely good for him.
where-ever he goes I'd wish him well, I'd just prefer it was pretty much anywhere else but MK
Christie Ward has been recalled. This screams injury issues!
Is he the one that @perfidious_albion reckons is gonna be a star?
Yep, a few people have been predicting he could be the next big thing
Absolutely. Remember the first thing Gaz did when he became manager? Recalled Josh S from loan. This promises to offer the same. Christie is ‘different gravy’.
