Some of them are terrible, but I've not seen any that aren't within the laws. Done well (Raphinha is a good example), they're arguably the best way to take a pen as you can take the goalkeeper completely out of the scenario before you've kicked it.
We've had Bruno and Jorginho doing these little silly jumps and then slot it where the keeper isn't, but all of a sudden loads of players are doing these.
I found this below, but not sure if that's all the change was. But that's just about the kick, not the run-up.
Following a rule change in 2016 the penalty taker must complete the kick in one continuous movement. A caution (yellow card) may be issued for ungentlemanly conduct if the kicker does not comply.
The behaviour of the Argentinian players was disgraceful, even by their standards. Hopefully action will be taken against them but this is FIFA so not holding my breath.
As an antidote, currently watching BBC Breakfast where Walter the French Mastif is choosing between French cheese and Yorkshire pudding, after an interview with the petanque champion, in CHichester. Worth downloading.
Overall, as expected, very little to choose between the two teams. Keep thinking about Rashford’s free kick against (?) Iran after the comfortable catch by Loris from a similar distance tonight. Ifs and buts, of course.
Griezman running the show for them. Bellingham has à similarly free rōle but not yet matching him. Mbappe and Foden both quiet so far.
What changes do we need to make at some stage in the second half?

Unnecessary
And the worse thing is, we have to put up with the BBC having another love in with them next match

The rule is you are allowed a stutter in the run up but not with last stride. I.e. you can’t stop and then shoot.
needs changing in my humble…
Haha
You thought the keeper didn't do well ?
I may be wrong, but I think they changed that a few years ago
It's funny how these things evolve.

I thought it was fine as long as you had one foot on the ground at all times?

Almost…Law 14 from the 2022-2023 FIFA Laws of the game, the offence and punishment is as follows.
Antonio Mateu is the Spanish Mike Dean - but Dean was actually a decent ref.
Nowadays the runups are so bizarre I expect the players have names for them.
"I call this the tippy-tippy-toe lollypop jump."
"This one is the around-the-garden-gnome and pop goes the weasel."
You're confusing this with how the BBC film sex scenes.
lol @Kim_il_Swan

OMG! Walter initially chose cheese! That's it then........😲😭🤣
Come on Morocco 🤞
Get in Morocco, really really well deserved; overall a superb defensive performance & some great counter-attacking football
GET. IN.
Cue us losing to France then watching them get past Morocco and Croatia to win it!
Great to see Ronaldo trudging off the pitch on his own. To be honest he did sweet FA during the time he was on the pitch in the second half.
I wouldn't overly back us against Morocco tbf. They're legit.
We have had tears from Suarez, Neymar and Ronaldo so far this tournament. It can't really get any better!
Certainly wouldn't be any sort of a given, but I think you'd take them over any of the traditional big teams like Spain for sure.
Still, just the little matter of France first, but if we do beat them...we can dream!
Hopefully this is the last we will see of Ronaldo, his crocodile tears, arrogance & ego are not needed in football (same goes for Suarez)
Bit harsh lumping him in with a guy who has served bans for racism and biting people.
Imay be biased l but how is that not at least a free kick?
Definitely a foul on Kane - so surely a clear & obvious error as the ref failed to give it... but it was outside the area so not a penalty.

Lee Dixon depressing to listen to.
Why take Saka off?
