I know, mate, but I get increasingly irritated in my old age by lazy, sloppy and unnecessary strangulation of our wonderful language ! I’ve hated ‘uni’ for decades.
I do say ‘telly’ though. Can you imagine me saying “have you turned the television off?” to mrs micra? You can? Oh, OK !!
That does sound weird now that I’ve finished breakfast, turned the telly off and repaired to the west wing. Oh, and I close the curtains before we squeeze into the tin bath @mooneyman ! 🤓
Sadly that all took me down a google rabbit like (it sounded wrong to me) but apparently there is no firm agreement out there and “drawing” for opening the curtains open is an acceptable use of the word.
Bet you wish you hadn’t encouraged me to continue posting my miscellaneous musings !
On the musical musing yesterday, prompted (he said defensively !) by references by other thread derailers to private activity within the micra lounge, I am disappointed that nobody appears to have had a listen. I’d be interested to know if anyone liked it. It’s very much my kind of music (along with classical, rock, folk, jazz and even, witness the ‘rave’ at the Swan on Friday evening, country & western, especially country rock).
QPR are doing very well without Mr Ainsworth, thank you very much !! 😉
Thought I ought to resurrect this thread. With our current financial position and relatively poor league position could this job be more attractive to Gareth now?

Ar least the Champ has about 10-15months of job security on average. Don’t get that long as PM now !
Champ?
come on son. champ...championship.

Bloody hell ! I’ve just told mrs micra I’m going to draw the curtains and turn the television on. Unbelievable.
The mind boggles....
Right....so now it's Beale to Viilla and Ainsworth to QPR. For at least a day or two.
Must be getting the tin bath out!
Never going to get away from that imagery are we!
I'm surprised you don't call it tellybox, idiotbox or some other box related name. Generational thing.
I expected "newfangled talking picture machine".

💡....
Ah so you were opening the curtains at 10:23am, @micra?
I, along with others I think, was assuming you were closing the curtains in order to indulge in ....
I’m my head “drawing” them is closing only.
I think that’s right. In all future posts describing our mid-morning breakfast rituals I shall refer only to opening the curtains.
I know, it’s disgraceful really but we can no longer burn the candle at both ends.
Fortunately.
We went to a rave this evening. Dominic Halpin and the Hurricanes. Don’t ask.

I'm not having it.
Drawing the curtains means closing the curtains, that's it.
You've got to take a stand sometimes and this is mine
In @micra's tin bath days you used to "draw" water.
Shall we just draw a line under this and start again.
Unless of course you have a pencil and paper.
That would be sketching the curtains
Not necessarily.
That’s right @mooneyman. We drew it from an ancient well.
Talking of which, how about this for a wonderful piece of music:

The music was by Abdullah Ibrahim of course. In the T20 World Cup, another Ibrahim (Zadran) has been fighting a lone battle against England.
Just out, in fact.
So is Ainsworth going to QPR? Just put that in to remind everyone about the title of this thread 😂😂

is QPR short for quash persistent rumours?
Blackburn and QPR on the front row for the race to the Prem. It seems being continually linked to GA is good for the health...
