Understood. If it genuinely is to end here (at least for now) then it‘ll be absolutely gut-wrenching, much worse if we have our best players following in the summer.
We all knew these glory days would end somewhere, but hopefully we can ride out this storm and have a few more games yet.
Ainsworth won’t go. We will be above QPR in six months. They are a basket case of a club with the manager not making the calls. Too many ex players in positions of authority and the ear of the owners.
They will have had four managers in less than a year and he would ruin his reputation with the fans within six months. Even Les Ferdinand is getting pelters by many and getting part of the blame, he’s far bigger than Ainsworth in the ex player stakes.
Looking forward to Gaz being here until at least after the end of the season.
I wish you were right, but we are up to at least four ITKs from Wycombe and QPR combined saying it is a done deal. I fully expect to wake up to him having departed.
I can’t imagine it’s anymore than he’s going for an interview, standard stuff as we would always allow him to go for an interview and he would like to know what’s on offer.
Everything QPR stand for at present is against his principles. I just can’t see it unless they sack numerous ex players including Ferdinand, change the way the club is managed and give Ainsworth a lot more control.
I guess we'll see tomorrow, but four witnesses is a strong starting point. The odds seem so imbalanced that they may be reflecting inside information too.
I recently said my paranoia-ometer was at zero, but the credibility of the sources seems impeccable.
I think eras are completely tied to managers, so even if we find someone to keep the good times going, this will still be the end of an incredible era.
I think it's a fairly safe bet that QPR are interested in Ainsworth and Ainsworth is interested in QPR. I suspect they'd be a fair bit of negotiating to go through however. Ainsworth I'm sure will want certain reassurances and he's most definitely going to want to take Dobbo with him. Seems from comments from QPR fans that he doesn't get on well with Ferdinand, which I'd have though could be an issue. We'll see I guess! I so hope he stays!
When he signed that last deal you suspect there was some sort of release clause or compensation type thing added.
No idea if those are binding for managers, but he's still got 2 years on his deal after this summer, so that's got to be worth some sort of fee for us.

@Jonny It's a push that I say anything at all. I cannot reveal that I'm afraid.

Correct
This is gonna be so weird
Especially if we replace him with a garden variety whiney manager who does not understand our culture.

Never going to happen
I'd be disbelieving too if I hadn't been told what I've been told. Unfortunately, this time, it sounds very much like it's happening.
I guess we'll see tomorrow, but four witnesses is a strong starting point. The odds seem so imbalanced that they may be reflecting inside information too.

I'm up at nearly 2am thinking about it, so I'm clearly not paranoid at all.

Are we mathematically safe from the drop this season? Just hoping that our form doesn't nose-drive if GA & Dobbo depart.
We might be lucky that GA will agree to leave at the end of the season?
Yes, 53 points is safe, but I am very concerned about us keeping our momentum going now.
Mr Couhig is in the country to negotiate terms. I wonder if this has been lined up for a week or so
From GMacs instagram
Don't worry we're safe... according to all the experts on Facebook there is absolutely no way he is leaving us for QPR
Makes me even more worried
Gaz odds drifting slightly as the Reverend Nathan starts to build momentum.
I know this proves nothing but it’s a straw to clutch at.
As Gasroom legend LX will tell you, pay no attention to the odds. They're more or less made up to provoke a bit of interest
In lieu of any other news, that’s good enough for me!
I expected to wake up to this terrible news and it hasn't happened yet. It's the hope that kills you.

Speculation or based on fact?
Fact. Ben Fisher is one of the best EFL journos around.

Clutching at straws is all we’ve got
Some of have out and out defeatism
He’s still here, he’s still here…. Talks mean nothing I say to myself… Ferdinand will say something daft and he’ll politely decline.
it’s the hope that is killing me
