Crickey, @Vital - I can remember Betsy nearly getting us a point in the most incredible of ‘almost comebacks’, but I would never have guessed Heaton was in goal that day. I think I’m mixing it up with another Stockport disaster (there were so many) when we had a young 2nd choice keeper due to injury or something, who let a bad one in and copped some fearful stick from the Cheadle End stand. Who on Earth was that?
From my recollection he had Frank Talia available but for some reason Adams hadn't taken to him and insisted on playing Williams instead. One of the more bizarre decisions from a bizarre regime.

Heaton was probably the top keeper we've had, but only here fairly briefly.
Taylor without doubt the best permanent keeper for me.
Stockdale competes with anyone else we've had though.
Hopefully he's in play off final form for long swerve shots today! Probably slightly harsh but we've only just got over that game.
Same here
Not appropriate to boo today. An excellent keeper for us and a top bloke.

Frank Fielding was in goal when we lost 6-0 up there @LeedsBlue
@Vital No, it wasn’t that match...
Arnold? Though not sure he ever played a game for us...
oh, I give up...
COYB!!

Maybe he’ll be better on Strictly Come Dancing.
Update- oh no he isn’t any better 😂
Saying he wasn't sure Johnson was a centre back.
Playing a teenage back 4 at times.
Treating Simpson and Currie as if they were the problem.
Writing off our league 1 status as early as October.
Walking out and telling the press first.
Without Smith around, he'd surely be our all time worst manager.
@Malone Peter Suddaby?
I should have said league managers, and pre 90 is before my time.
Another pre Premier League history shift?
Only joking but the best memory I have of Suddaby was the occasions the Nolan Sisters came to watch. Football wise it was quite bleak.
Did they say the Nolans are doing a great job ?!
[Kevin’s influence]
Neil Smillie must be up there for nightmare managers
Ricardo Batista was fantastic during his loan season.. Taylor definitely the best keeper in my lifetime though!!
I loved Paul Hyde because he was a real character but I must agree with you on Martin Taylor, he was superb.
A bridge too far, no doubt but it seems slightly unkind to call such a nice man (and such a good youth coach) a nightmare !
