I am happy to get the starting eleven an hour before k.o. like everyone else because it would make no difference to me if I knew it any earlier. I am also happy to trust our medical staff to handle our injured players’ welfare because there is nothing I can do that would make a meaningful difference. You obviously have a different opinion and that is your prerogative. End of story.

I assume when he said on the radio yesterday that he expected to be ready to roll with that "by the first of the year", he didn't literally mean January 1 2023?! Maybe the start of next season?
I can't work out whether he genuinely believes he can get a new road built in the next year and is just hopelessly naïve, or if he is being willfully misleading because he has a Trumpian belief that we live now all in a post truth society.
The most charitable explanation is that he thinks that his force of personality is so great that if he says something strongly enough, others will fold and make it happen.
The more cynical explanation is that he knows it will never happen but this allows him an excuse to throw his toys out of the pram at some point in the future, put the club up for sale and storm off.
Perhaps some of it depends on wether it's an agreement to let us commoners trespass on to already existing tracks on the nobilitys land for an hour or two a week, or if we're actually talking about building a proper road from scratch.

Not like you to produce a cynical view of our owner. Short of moving out altogether, is there anything he could do to win you over or will you always mistrust him because you disagree with his politics?
I don't actually dislike him, not entirely. I think he's very good at spin and bluster, for example. But fundamentally, I think football clubs like ours survive so precariously and are so vulnerable to hucksters, cliques, freemasonry etc that the only way to ensure a future is through transparency, scrutiny, cross examination. An occasional q&a moderated a club employee is not my idea of that. Nor is obscurification of the corporate accounts, stuffing the board with lickspittles etc.
What could he do to win me over? How about submitting himself to a 30-minute grilling by @aloysius before a match sometime? That would be a good start...

You don't think those intricate levels of preparation would allow them to plan for a variety of scenarios depending on who might be playing?
Can you be specific on which of the 1263 almost identical posts we should pay more attention to?

He did also suggest that local residents haven't been consulted yet and nothing official has been proposed so Jan 1st would be wildly optimistic.
He is a fairly optimistic character, so it'll be very interesting how this pans out.
If he can get the plans and sign off rolling and in operation within a couple of years he'll have done amazingly.

It will surely be a mix of those 2 things.
There will have to be a new road to link the upper carpark (presumably?) With the existing roads.
Will it be a simple straight across the field and turn right up that steep hill.
Or will it go straight on across the field to sync up with a different part of the existing roads.
