That moment when you think you are the biggest club in the division but lose your manager to Stoke and realize you are seen as the club who just spent four years in League One.
In reality though, I agree Sunderland is the better gig and club, money being equal (which it is not).
I'd argue Bartolo is worth looking at. At 16 he's still got 4 years on De Barr and getting him into a professional environment sooner can only help his development.
Are Rotherham a threat this year? They are beating Birmingham 1-0 but have not even allowed a shot of any kind. If they win this and their game in hand they would go top. Despite their bleating last season, I would enjoy seeing them do well.
You can accept being well beaten by better teams, but at some stage you need to at least pretend to go a bit more defensive and not just carry on playing your usual way. Bielsa never adapted and got sacked.
Parker doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Bielsa. Let's not forget Leeds finished ninth in the first first season back; injuries were what nearly did for them last season. March isn't that different stylistically as a coach.
Injuries didn't help, but Bielsa wouldn't change tactics whoever they were playing against, hence generally getting thrashed whenever playing the top teams.
Yeah, his stubbornness is probably what's stopped him ever managing a top team, but I chuckled at the idea of him in the same bracket as Parker (I know that not what you meant lol).
Another impressive result for Gibraltar U17s. Someone in the EFL should sign this Bartolo kid. Scanlon's already at Man Utd so basically off limits for a couple of years.
Perfect snapshot of modern football at the Camp Nou, where Barcelona make five subs at once while Demi Lovato's new album is advertised on the pitchside LEDs
I thought so...a newly promoted team losing to Liverpool whatever the score is no disgrace. Surely his only job this term was to keep them up and there are plenty of games left.
He has taken every opportunity to state the squad are not good enough, we need investment etc, etc. He then does it again after Saturday and seems to want to have a public argument with the board. He's been sacked for this and not the 9-0 defeat.
Parker was sticking to his footballing "principles" no matter what. Sometimes your principles need to be reined in a little when facing sides that are clearly better than you. I'm sure if they'd been a little less gung ho and a lot more solid they wouldn't have conceded 9 at the weekend.

It's the love of money that's the root of all evil.
As micra isn't about to point that out.

These Luton shirts are awful aren’t they? How have they not started the season with a points deduction
Supposed to be inspired by a classic design, but they just look low-res

After their Big Time Charlie attitude towards us in the Championship, I am so glad Bournemouth get to experience being back in the big time.
Just some plain daft management from Parker.

4-0 v City, 3-0 v Arsenal and 9-0 today!

Erling Haaland is currently on course to finish the season with just the 47 goals. He's going to destroy football as we know it.
Getting a team promoted and then not being backed well you can easily be a victim of your own success.

Yep, Parker needs quite a few more thrashings to be put in the Bielsa bracket 😉
Parker lost it when he wore a cardigan on the stupidly hot day the other week (the City game)
Fulham, by contrast, have got it spot on so far since coming back up.
Bielsa’s Bilbao beating United at Old Trafford in 2012 is one of my favourite non-Wycombe games of all time.

Sorry, *57. If he stays fit, I fully expect him to break the single-season PL goals record. Absolutely incredible.

Great to hear Charlie Wyke is back playing. That defibrillator is a serious bit of kit. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12683866/charlie-wyke-says-man-utds-christian-eriksen-inspired-him-to-return-to-football-after-cardiac-arrest

Wondered what tickled you so much @ReturnToSenda but link must be one of the missing ones.
Looks like Twitter is down. It was a Sunderland fan, without a hint of irony, suggesting they should go after Graham Potter as their next manager...
And he's just the paid the price
The Scott Parker sacking is barking mad isn't it?
I think he was essentially sacked for being too honest about the club & team in his post match interview following the Liverpool game

It does seem that way. Interested to see who they go for next - held talks with Thierry Henry before appointing Parker.
Two things stick out.
