Don't know about you guys, but i'm absolutely buzzing for this weekend! So glad footy is back irrespective of the score, especially with all the nonsense happening round the country at the minute. I'm sure you won't get many dickheads to spoil a great day out. I'll be in the Maesgwyn before the game, it really is a belter of a place. Weather is looking to be spot on too to be out in the beer garden.
There are two options - the train direct Chester to Wrexham (every 1/2 hour I think) or a really good bus service which starts outside the Chester Railway station and is every 15 minutes. Its about 12 miles. If you are staying overnight, then as much as I love my home town, I would recommend Chester. As long as the races are not on when it is full of idiots.
My daughters U9 team i run has a tournament in Blackburn, first game is 9am. Should be done for 1pm. Shoot home and leave Liverpool about 2.30 at the latest.
Been looking forward to the game since the fixtures come out.
A huge tip of the hat to @Wrexy for the heads up on the Rescue Cafe. We met friends there about 4 PM and the volunteers showed us round the display and rescue miner’s training exhibition and memorial whilst a table was cleared. Great chat with them and the Wrexham supporters in there about the season, the match and the history of the place. Food was great too.
A fantastic place to visit pre match and at any other time.
I asked some of the regulars if the impression given by Welcome to Wrexham of Rob and Ryan’s positive impact on the town was accurate. I’m pleased to say they said that the pair have done much more than the doc manages to fit in.
Have to comment on the general friendliness of everyone I met , credit to the club and town, at no point as far as I know was anyone hassled, patronised, made to make accomodation for the TV show or lauded over, just a good game with a good crowd, some good banter with the usual sheep comments being returned with interest as they went ahead.
Have been to games before with "celeb angles" like PSG where everything is hideously expensive and most of those attending are just getting selfies and paying no interest. Looks like the owners here have made an effort in a town that needed it and it's appreciated.
As for inside the ground, we had a wheelchair space and a carer seat plus 3 tickets next to the disabled section for 1 adult and my 2 girls.
With everyone standing they couldn't see but thankfully we we're all allowed in the disabled section together.
Kerry a lady in a wheelchair introduced herself during the game, she asked if everything was OK and if Ellis needed anything. Thought this was a nice touch.

Excellent idea, @mooneyman. And the 1904 Tug of War picture on the back cover. That’d confuse ‘em !
That’s the one. Thanks, @StrongestTeam.
Yes, I did not think any of the CBS/Paramount games would be on WTV, so we shall see!
I've not ordered my own away match ticket for a while. Selected postal delivery. Does anyone know when they tend to arrive?
I assume if it doesn't come tomorrow it's a case of ringing the club and collecting at the Racecourse?
Mine arrived a couple of days after I ordered - it was sent first class
Normally you can do this but they have specifically said you can’t collect at the ground at Wrexham. I’d ring and ask now.
They've just arrived in the post! Phew.

I'm flying solo for Saturday following a relatively late decision to go to the game.
If anyone else happens to be going on their own and fancies a pre match pint let me know.
Will the Maesgwyn show the community shield at 3pm?

I'm going there tonight so will ask the question. I'd imagine they would do, though.
Thought Shameless was Manchester way not Wrexham…
Yes, the community shield will be on at the Maesgwyn.
Amazing. Thanks.
Thanks for all the info.

Stocko is playing in a charity match in Chester on Sunday if anyone is staying up that way

We ended up in the Plas Coch, parked up over the road on a grass verge at a tennis venue.
Family friendly, girls mixed in the park with both Wycombe and Wrexham fans. We managed to grab a table inside and have a drink and order some food.
Went back afterwards for a half an hour.
Really nice pub, plenty of choice on the beers and more importantly very welcoming.

Kerry is our Disability Liason Officer, and I think she goes out her way to ensure everyone is well looked after.
