It's refreshing to see an interview where the player genuinely thinks about what his answer to the question is, instead of jumping to a comfortable cliche. Taylor is clearly a thoughtful and well spoken guy.
I think it's pretty well known that Morgan was a divisive figure, who was leading the young players we had at that time - Stewart, Dunne, PCH - astray.
One of the best thing Ainsworth did to push the culture of positive attitude, energy, and togetherness, which got us to the playoff final in 2014, was binning him off
I agree that Lyle comes across so well in that refreshingly honest interview, a welcome counter balance to the attack on his character in an earlier post. Pleased to see that the majority are prepared to give him a chance rather than condemn him on the basis of what they might have read about his earlier career (two sides to every story) or his sincerely held beliefs on divisive issues.
I thought he came across very well in that interview. He had the honesty to admit that there were potentially better offers in the pipeline and quite rightfully decided to wait and see. Nothing materialised so when Bloomers called, it was near enough a no brainer for him. Short term contract would suit both parties as 18 months without an EFL game, at his age can be a long time with no guarantee that he will return as prolific, or anything like, as before. On yesterday's evidence he has a long way to go before that match sharpness is back, let alone his eye for a goal, plus both he and the club have to get to know each others movements off the ball and work out which is the best way to give him those opportunities. I think possibly the return of Potts may help him a lot.
As for Kian Breckin , I am afraid he isn't ready nor anything like it, yet for mens L1 football. Nearly every pass was a "safe" pass if it wasn't lost in possession. A classic case of too much development football where you are given plenty of time on the ball and tackling is a big no! I am not saying that he won't develop, but at the moment, he is a waste of salary and should return to Manchester City and wait further down the road when he is mentally ready for the rough and tumble of L1. Potts is the classic example of how to adapt. When he first played for us, he often used to get dispossessed and was weak in the tackle, but he soon learned that to make it at this level you have to be stronger then allow your skill set to shine through. Likewise, Harry Boyes also "toughened up" pretty quickly and is now putting in some decent performances. 🤷♂️
My impression of Kian, from what is admittedly small samples, is that he plays with high energy and appears to be trying to find space to receive the ball. From the extended highlights he seemed to be involved in most of the attacks keeping possession with as @EwanHoosaami says the safe pass.
What concerns me is the apparent weakness in the tackle therefore not winning possession like Scowen and Potts are so brilliant at.
He is clearly still in development and struggling with the hustle of the senior game. However I don’t feel that going back to City and back to the ‘soft’ environment of academy football will benefit him one bit.
If there is a decent league one player in him, and I believe there is, he is in the best place to find it.
I should add his dead ball delivery is excellent and I think I remember it being reported he scored a superb free kick in one of the behind closed doors matches
I agree that sending him back to city for academy football won't benefit him, but neither is leaving him to fester in the development squad with us. It was merely from a selfish/WWFC viewpoint that I suggested he be moved on, as let's face it, if the number crunchers amongst us would have us believe we are not exactly flush with money? Unless of course City are paying his full wage, which I doubt. Can we carry anyone atm, given our injury list🤷♂️
Yes that’s the key point for me really. I hope he progresses and has a really good career but I’d rather we were giving any midfield opportunities in the first team to Christie Ward or Jack Young if we bring him back from Ayr United.
Yeah I agree with this as well. Seems a bit pointless wasting a loan signing on someone who can't get in the team. To me anyway, someone on loan should be good enough for first team football.
I must be living under a rock. I have no idea what his views are. Sometimes I’m happy not caring that I don’t know what everyone thinks or believes in.
People say stuff like this all the time based on the lightest of rumours, I did hear he was prone to a sulk but the idea he was such a bold character that all the other professionals let him drag everyone upcoming down with him probably doesn't stand up to much investigation. Lots of the players who he is basically alleged to have ruined the careers of are still good friends of his with him regularly popping up on their social media.
I base this on events and behaviour I personally observed. Actions have consequences. All three went on to have half decent careers, sadly not with us, having been moved on by Gaz and Dobbo with good reason.

Terrific punning 👏
Here too
Sorry is this picture for the bad haircuts or because of the food thing I started? I mean, how could I have overlooked Darren CURRIE
We had a whole thing on curry-ish Wycombe players when the Patak's GK kit came out!
In recent years, biggest bellend would be Dean Morgan, who I believe was almost solely responsible for our near-relegation
In a separate note, Taylor comes off very well in the post match interview we've posted online.

The answer to this is Mickey Nuttall.
Micky
One of the most impressive "introduction to new signing" videos I've ever seen.
Great to hear that he's friends with JJ, Bayo and Wheels as well. That's good enough for me.
Welcome to the club Lyle
Which explains why some people find him 'difficult'.
Re Dean Morgan, that's a big accusation, care to elaborate?

I'm not sure that Stewart, Dunne and PCH are as weak willed as you suggest.

it the national haircut of Australia.
Breckin surely won't ever have Potts and Scowen's bite in the tackle though, as he's a more advanced mid?
Don't disagree with the rest of the comments though.

I would send him back in January if we can. He has shown nothing to date to demonstrate he is better than our own development players.

Lee Angol, Junior Morais & Marvin McCoy were all promising players who suffered being in Morgan’s orbit.
Was PCH here when Morgan was playing for us? I thought he came in the following season.

Who was it that got them all shilling some nutritional supplement pyramid scheme?
