Potter may have learned an important lesson about knowing what he's getting into before joining a new club though. Make sure the owners are committed to your project and will back you 100%, and won't fly off the handle at the slightest sign of trouble. Though conversely I think Everton gave Lampard *too much* time, when it was clear he was out of his depth. Dyche was the right call but far later than it should have been. Chelsea hiring Frank as a stop-gap on the advice of James Corden shows how clueless Boehly is, and also that Corden can actually be funny sometimes (albeit probably not intentionally).
Lol, hadn't heard the last bit, should be cause for some kind of disrepute charge if true.
Sad truth for Potter is that while the Chelsea job was probably the wrong one at the wrong time, much like QPR for Gaz, he might never have got another shot at anything like it.
I think Chelsea were right to give Lampard the job until the end of the season.
I suspect they have already sorted out a manager for next season (perhaps he's not available until the end of this season). Chelsea have nothing to fight for other than the Champions League and they will get stuffed by Real Madrid whoever the manager is. He knows the set up there and most of the players will probably respect him. Yes he failed at Everton, but who hasn't in recent years.
Interesting on the QPR fans forum, they seem to agree Ainsworth is a good motivator but absolutely useless when it comes to tactics. The knives are out.
They say he's not cut out for the Championship, which doesnt take into account the fact Warnock has completed that league, effectively, without ever being known for tactical prowess.
Also, they can't be bothered to look into the numbers of our season in the Champ. When he had the good players fit and we'd figured it out, we had a great record in the 2nd half of that season.
Rumours are that Ferdinand et al might go in the summer, and whoever takes over would want someone else.
It’s a shame for Gaz that the opposition manager knowing what they’re gonna get when playing his side is because it’s a guaranteed 3 points, as opposed to a frustrating shithouse performance. Dogged, determined players giving their all with a shared goal of winning a game of football. I can’t see him being given anywhere near enough time for bring those players in.
Quite right. I watched the Morecambe game (from Paris), and thought that, while we passed a lot in midfield, there was very little positive end result. 55% possession, 20 shots at goal, but only 4 on target. And some of the passes weren't accurate enough, allowing the opposition to nick the ball and counter attack.
It sort of reminded me of the way PNL played in that 2020 Wembley playoff final. We shouldn't be doing that at this stage of the season.
QPR V Norwich on Sky sports red button tonight. Come on Gareth and Dobbo! The abuse Gaz has been getting has been hard to watch, especially from other former QPR players. Go get that win you so desperately need and prove the doubters wrong!
I reckon a win and two draws will be enough to QPR to stay up. Stoke and Bristol City should be properly on the beach by the time they play, but it's tough to see them getting much out of Norwich and Burnley.

Seems to be a fair bit more positivity around from QPR fans tonight based on today’s comeback at WBA.
All hoping for a big performance against Coventry next weekend.
Anyone want to volunteer to tell them about Gareth’s track record against the Sky Blues?
Well we did finally get a draw in our last game against them - maybe things are on the way up there too!
Didn’t he also get like 3.6 points* against Coventry in the promotion season?
* according to Alan Swann.
Reading sack Paul Ince.
What will this mean for QPR?????
Not a resignation, surely. That wouldn’t be Gareth’s style. Could make sense though.
I'd take one look at Reading's accounts and run a mile
They've appointed Noel Hunt till end of season.
I suppose an insurance policy for Gareth and Dobbo if QPR are mad enough to sack them if they go down.
They could always swap managers! Ince would be a good fit for QPR.
A comment I've just seen from a QPR fan on Gaz's ability to turn it around: "I honestly have more faith in the Nigerian prince who's been emailing me"
They seem to forget they were on a mad losing run already and seem to have a horrible ramshackle squad.
They could find they could actually stay up, but with not winning another game.
That'd be an odd scenario to process.

Some people on here thought the same for years.
Which was always a curious view as we frequently employed tactics that won tight games, or games against stronger outfits.
Even stranger for them as he clearly can't get them to do whatever it is he's asking them to.

Any successful has a decent amount of tactical acumen, however 'unfashionable' their approach might be.
Football is a simple game, but it's not always as simple as what you tell players will immediately pay off.
Top class shithousery can't be perfected overnight!
Absolutely. We need a bit more of it at the moment. I hate myself for saying it but we are trying to play too much football !!!

Gawd...team needing win for playoff push against team struggling to survive. Not one for the faint hearted.
I did not realise Scott Twine was playing for Burnley...QPR's next game. Gareth might not like that.

Yes, Cardiff have an extra game but look fairly hapless. Reading face 3rd in the table Luton. Huddersfield in the mire too.
It might not take many points to escape.
However, Huddersfield do play both Cardiff and Reading , so that might not help QPR.
