My wife works in the NHS, having worked in the private sector and local government. I know it’s anecdotal but the level of highly paid, mediocre, pompous bullies that service employs is extraordinary.
It has an awful management culture. A mix of highly qualified clinicians who are pompous beyond belief and very touchy about any slight on their area of expertise. And a raft of management consultant climbers who will shit on anyone as they relentlessly climb the ranks while talking about ‘being kind’.
Then again, I’ve worked in the private sector all my life and it’s not so different. And anyone who thinks it’s some hotbed of efficiency has been reading The Spectator for far too long.
From a personal point of view, the fact that I'm arguing with both progressives and racists makes me hopeful that my pragmatic views fall in the centre ground and likely represent the majority.
This is true of every position, there will always be different people who criticise from either side.
“…free healthcare at the point of need”….”this is what our grandparents fought for and voted for post war not keeping those more unfortunate than us out of this green and pleasant land”

”you seem to think that the men fighting WWII hoped they were paving the way for unlimited immigration”
No question there to be answered. Claiming I said something I didn’t. Mud slinging.
And yes trying to have a conversation with you is frustrating as you flip flop from point to point.
Please don’t bother with another laborious response please as it is a waste of my time reading any further fiction from you.

A 4th option is to start breeding like rabbits!

Well not to me any more…
Absolutely. What's hard for me is trying to hold discourse with people who do not just disagree with me but clearly see me as morally dubious.
My time has gone I'm afraid, shame
Likewise!
Blimey, maybe we should get Viagra in as shirt sponsors next season.
Or Heineken.

My Grandad fought in that war and though a lifelong Tory voter opposed Mosley and Powell after it.
People who believe they speak for the silent majority don't always speak for the silent majority.
Familiarise yourself with the function of the question mark.
Accusing me of writing 'fiction' suggests that you don't understand the difference between fact and opinion: which would explain a lot.
You talking about 'evil cabals of free-marketeers' and then accusing me of 'hysterical rhetoric' was hilarious.
Two factual statements. What's not to like? Thumbs up from me!
Another flip flop to a different point.
